Rachel Stevens Career

Career

In 1999, the group came to prominence by appearing in their own BBC television show, Miami 7. S Club 7 had four UK No.1 singles, one UK No.1, and a string of hits around Europe, with one being a top-ten single in the United States, Asia, Latin America, and Africa during their five-year partnership. They released eleven singles and then went on to sell over fourteen million albums around the world. S Club, the band's debut album, had a pronounced 1990s pop sound, similar to many artists of their time. However, their musical approach shifted to a more dance and R&B style on their final album, Seeing Double.

The group's name and brand were designed by Simon Fuller, who was also their boss through 19 Entertainment, and they were officially licensed to Polydor Records. The group travelled around the country and eventually settled in Barcelona, Spain, as their television series continued to run for the fourth series. It became very popular in 100 countries where the show was watched by over 90 million viewers. The show, which was a children's sitcom, resembled real life events in S Club, including Hannah Spearritt and Paul Cattermole's union as well as the former's departure from the corporation. S Club 7 received two British Awards in 2000 and 2002 for best British single, as well as the success of their television show S Club 7; in 2000 for Britain's first appearance and in 2002 for Best British Single. The company achieved the year's highest sales on record in 2001. S Club's second to last single debuted in the UK charts, and their final studio album did not make it to the top ten. However, S Club announced on April 21, 2003, during a live onstage appearance, that they were to disband.

Stevens re-signed with Fuller in 2003, after S Club disbanded, signing a £1.5 million solo four-album contract with Polydor Records. After a success with S Club, she said it was difficult to break out on her own: "I believe we [S Club] ended up conforming to what people's expectations were." This one was the ditzy one, although the singer was the dancer. It's been a real challenge for me to step out of that and be a whole person. I didn't have my say in the company, actually. None of us did." "Sweet Dreams My LA Ex," Cathy Dennis' debut and produced by Bloodshy & Avant, was released in September 2003. Stevens' debut solo album, Funky Dory, was released later this month, taking inspiration from R&B and adult-style pop music. The album was a hit, peaking at number 9 on the UK charts chart and being certified gold. In a Yahoo review, pop writers also lauded the album; Jamie Gill. Stevens' "eschews the cheap and cheerful approach of her old band for a swanky adult glow and musical eclecticism," the spokesman said at the launch. "Funky Dory," the album's second single, showcasing a sample of David Bowie's "Andy Warhol" from his album Hunky Dory, debuted as its second single and failed to measure "Sweet Dreams My LA Ex," which debuted at number twenty-four.

MusicOMH branded it "musically better than "Sweet Dreams My LA Ex" with a mix of pop, Latin, and even a hint of jazz infusion, but it was not a good single pick as a single because it was lacking something special and unique. [1] Stevens first released "Some Girls," a BBC Sport Relief charity single that was directed by Richard X in July 2004. It became a hit in Europe and ranked second in the United Kingdom. Stevens' "finest song to date" was the album, according to HMV.co.uk [2] and Yahoo! "She came to save her career," Launched the article. She ended up saving pop. "[3] Stevens later signed a £1 million contract with Matalan, and her hit song "More More" became the title song for Matalan's advertising campaign." Funky Dory was re-released to include "Some Girls" and another new track, a cover of Andrea True Connection's "More More" after the success of "Some Girls." Stevens' third top ten solo single in the United Kingdom was released as a single and peaked at number three in the United Kingdom. Stevens and her staff stepped up their promotion, winning her the Guinness World Record for "Most Public Appearances by a Pop Star in 24 Hours in Different Cities" (seven on August 9, 2004). Stevens appeared in Suzie Gold, a British comedy film.

Stevens' latest single, "Negotiate with Love," was a top-ten hit in the United Kingdom in March 2005. "So Good" was released in July 2005 and reached its highest position at number ten, being praised as "tastily manufactured and sassinated." As she promoted "So Good" in mid-2005, Channel 4 carried a documentary that followed Stevens through the summer. Come and Get It, Richard X and Xenomania's second album, was released in October 2005 and ranked No. 28 in the United Kingdom. The album was included on The Guardian's list of "1,000 Songs You Must Hear Before You Die." "I Said Never Again (But Here We Are)", the third and final single in the United Kingdom, soared to number 12 in the United Kingdom and was lauded by HMV.com for its "most commercially useful and unique single since "Some Girls," Stevens' "most commercially accessible and quirky single since "Some Girls." [4] Stevens appeared in Deuce Bigalow's European Gigolo and Spider-Plant Man in 2005. She toured in the United Kingdom with the Come and Get It Tour in December 2005.

Stevens had intended to record a third album in the upcoming years but decided against it in favor of philanthropic causes, having worked in the Make Poverty History for two years. In 2008 Stevens portrayed Patrica Ravelston in the animated short Glendogie Bogey. She was announced in August as the Strictly Come Dancing partner, alongside professional dancer Vincent Simone. She came in second place after placing in second place. Stevens and Simone were also included in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Specials, which ran from 2008 to 2008. "Nothing in Common," a demo track from Come and Get It, was released online in July 2011. Tasty Tunes, a charity children's compilation created in 2011, was introduced in 2011 by Ella's Kitchen, a toddlers food chain.

Stevens was mentor assistant on the New Zealand version of The X-Factor, assisting Melanie Blatt with the groups category. Stevens will be seated as the fourth coach on The Voice of Ireland, according to Irish state broadcaster RTÉ on October 6, 2014. Stevens appeared at the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special and Strictly Tour in December 2014, a dance performance in the United Kingdom. In May 2015, all seven original members of S Club 7 reunited in an arena tour titled Bring It All Back 2015. Stevens appeared on BBC Radio 1's Innuendo Bingo on March 12, 2015.

She appeared on Celebrity Masterchef's cast in 2017. Stevens appeared on an episode of Celebrity Mastermind in December 2017. Stevens appeared in the Rip It Up The 70s theatre performance with Louis Smith, Melody Thornton, and Lee Ryan.

She was third to be disqualified in 2022 in the fourteenth series of Dancing on Ice, and was the third to be eliminated.
