Career
Spearritt performed Annie in the Lowestoft Players amateur dramatics society when she was 12 years old. She auditioned for the National Youth Music Theatre and became a member of the company afterward. Pendragon (1994–1995), Tin Pan Ali (1996), and the West End musical Bugsy Malone (1997) appeared in the NYMT's productions Pendragon (1994–1995), Pendragon (1994–1995), and Pendragon (1997). She appeared in the television film The Cater Street Hangman in 1998, playing the part of a maid who is murdered. Spearritt has also appeared on the National Lottery and Blue Peter.
Spearritt auditioned for and became a member of S Club 7. The group had four UK number one singles and a UK number one album in the five years they were together. They released eleven singles, and went on to sell more than 12 million albums around the world. S Club, their first album, had a strong 1990s pop sound, similar to many artists of their time. However, their musical approach evolved to a more dance and R&B sound, which is evidently in their final album, Seeing Double. S Club 7 received two BRIT Awards, one in 2000 for a British debutant and the other in 2002 for Best British Single. The company received the Record of the Year award in 2001.
