Jo O'Meara Career

Career

O'Meara was the first incarnation of girl group Solid HarmoniE, when she moved to Sweden to work with young record producer Max Martin at age 16. She'd returned to Essex and appeared at open mic nights before being discovered by the S Club 7 team in a country and western bar.

The group came to prominence by playing in their own BBC television series, Miami 7, in 1999. S Club 7 had four UK No.1 singles, one UK No.1 album, and a string of hits around Europe, including a top-ten single in the United States, Asia, Latin America, and Africa during the five years they were together, with four UK No.1 singles, as well as a single in Africa. They released eleven singles, and went on to sell over fourteen million albums worldwide. S Club, the band's debut album, had a classic 1990s pop sound, similar to many artists of their time. However, their musical approach changed to a more dance and R&B style on their last album, Seeing Double.

The firm's name and brand were created by Simon Fuller, who was also their boss through 19 Entertainment; they were then sold to Polydor Records. The group travelled around the United States and eventually ended up in Barcelona, Spain, as their television series continued to progress to the last four series. It became very popular in 100 other countries, where the show was watched by over 90 million viewers. The program, which was a children's sitcom, mirrored many aspects of life in S Club, including Hannah Spearritt and Paul Cattermole's friendship and the latter's eventual departure from the company. S Club 7 received two Brit Awards in 2000 and 2002 for best British single, as well as the success of their television show. The company set the year's first in 2001. S Club's second last single debuted at number five in the UK charts, but their final studio album did not make the top ten. However, S Club announced on April 21, 2003, during a live onstage display, that they would disband.

O'Meara signed Simon Fuller as her artist manager and began recording her debut solo album, which is expected to be released between September and December. O'Meara will be focusing on R&B music, and Fuller described it as "the next Christina Aguilera." When the talks with Polydor Records fell and they disagreed over the recorded songs, she dropped out of Fuller in December 2004; she suggested that she record songs from other composers but not by her. Lee Ryan, who directed pop rock style and produced by Richard Carpenter, was scheduled to debut as "Taxi Cab" or "Don't Want A Let Down" on release, but the project was postponed due to a record label.

O'Meara signed with Sanctuary Records in July 2005, and her debut solo single, "What Hurts the Most," a spin on Mark Wills' 2003 album, was released on September 26. The song reached number 13 in the United Kingdom and 26 in Ireland. Brian Rawling, Graham Stack, and Bill Padley produced Relentless, her debut album on October 3rd. The album reached its high point at No. 107. It was the second single in the United Kingdom and was described by music critics as "polished," "well-constructed," and "better than other ex boy and girl band" albums, quoting O'Meara's "strong voice" and "Relentless."

O'Meara appeared on BBC reality show Just the Two of Us in February 2006. Chris Fountain, an actor on Channel 4's soap opera Hollyoaks, was her singing partner. The pair finished third in the poll, but they did not receive enough votes to qualify for the final after their appearance of "Never Had a Dream Come True." O'Meara appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in January 2007. O'Meara was accused of racist and bullying conduct towards fellow contestant Indian actress Shilpa Shetty, resulting in a record number of reports to Ofcom, national and international media coverage, and condemnatory remarks from the British and Indian governments.

O'Meara, Bradley McIntosh, and Paul Cattermole formed S Club 3 in November 2008 and have been seen in nightclubs, colleges, and Butlins holiday camps around the country. During their appearance in Bradford on Tuesday, a bottle was thrown. It struck O'Meara, leaving her with a cut to the head and requiring hospitalization. A 20-year-old man was arrested, and it was alleged that the assault was related to her appearance at Celebrity Big Brother.

On The Popes' 2012 album New Church, O'Meara was featured in a cover of Python Lee Jackson's "In a Broken Dream" on a cover. She was the first public speaking engagement in seven years. She appeared on stage with them also performing the song. All seven original S Club 7 members reunited in November 2014 to perform a medley of some of their greatest hits on BBC Children In Need. In May 2015, they undertook Bring It All Back to A Reunion Tour, Reuniting It All Back To back In 2015, they undertook a reunion tour.

Following the S Club reunion, Jo Jolly went on tour with Tina Barrett and Bradley McIntosh as S Club 3. In 2017, the trio released "Family" for charity, but it didn't do well in the UK.

O'Meara revealed in August 2020 that she would no longer be performing as S Club 3 to concentrate on her forthcoming second studio album. Stacey Franks, a former S Club 8 member, was fired, and the club was renamed "S Club Allstars" after she was renamed.

O'Meara's "Don't Stop Movin'" and "Relentless" respectively in April and May 2021. On August 20, 2021, she released With Love, her second album.

O'Meara's personal manager, Jack Corbyn, has a new management contract with Saga Entertainment in 2022. After unveiling a cover of Radiohead's classic Creep this year, O'Meara took to the stage at the London Palladium this year.

O'Meara performed with The Celebs in September 2022 to celebrate the Michael Jackson classic Thriller (album) and raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital. The song was released on independent record label Saga Entertainment and produced by Grahame & Jack Corbyn.
