Carolynne Poole Career

Singing career

The Eagles, U2, The Carpenters, and Mary Chapin Carpenter were among Poole's early musical influences. She travelled from Leeds to London in 1998 to pursue a career as a singer-songwriter, and she and Pop Idol contestant Zoe Birkett were one of the top 15 in auditions for S Club 7. Poole formed and fronted a five-member country music band in the United Kingdom in the following year. She first signed her first publishing deal with BMG Music Publishing in 2001. She continued to grow her songwriting skills in the United Kingdom and Europe in 2000. She divided her time between London and Stockholm, writing for other writers, recording with various writers and producers.

Poole appeared in the second series of the BBC's singing competition Fame Academy, in which she reached the final. "Not Your Average Kind of Girl," Parks' 2003 debut album Introduction, a song she co-wrote with fellow contestants Alex Parks and James Fox. The album debuted on the UK Albums Chart and has since been ranked 2x Platinum in the United Kingdom and gold in six other countries, including Italy, Greece, Germany, and Australia.

Poole spent 2004 on writing songs, and next year, he will tour the UK with Tony Christie. She co-wrote new music and formed the Carolynne Good Band in 2005 with guitarist Don Rogers, drummer Sean Fitzgerald, guitarist Alex Rogers, and keyboardist Maki, all under Christie's Amarillo Music. The band referred to their sound as "a mash-up of classic singer-songwriter melodies with a country flavor."

In 2011, Poole auditioned for the eighth season of The X Factor. She reached the "judges' houses" stage, where Louis Walsh was her mentor in the "over 25s" category, but she didn't make it to the live shows, choosing Johnny Robinson, Kitty Brucknell, Jonjo Kerr, and Goldie Cheung (who later dropped out and was replaced by Sami Brookes).

Poole auditioned for the ninth series of the show, making it to the live broadcasts with Gary Barlow as her mentor. Poole sang "Starships" by Nicki Minaj in the first week of the live shows. Despite positive remarks, Rylan Clark was in the bottom two the following night, with unpopular "boys" contestant Rylan Clark. Nicole Scherzinger protested Poole as she was in her class, while Gary Barlow and Tulisa voted against Clark, based on the final showdown results. Walsh won the casting vote, but he was unable to make up his mind. "I'm going to with Carolynne," he mumbled for a long time. Carolynne's husband, Carolynne, was relieved when she finally said it. "But he had to tell who wanted to go home, not who wanted to save." Walsh eventually, after being asked an answer by host Dermot O'Leary, Walsh pushed back, "I want to bring it to a halt." Poole had gotten the fewest public votes and she was sent home, much to Barlow's chagrine, who stormed off stage and called Clark a "joke act" and "talentless."

Poole moved to the United States for five months after the X Factor. She spent time in Arizona and Los Angeles, as well as in Nashville, Tennessee, which is also known as the country's "home country" because she worked with songwriters and producers, including Jeff Silbar. She appeared at the C2C: Country to Country festival in London in 2014 and 2015. Poole's 'Cupid Must've Been High' featured on BBC Radio 2 Country in early 2015. Later Poole released her debut album, "I Love You But Shut Up," which features guitar-playing by Albert Lee. The single was on BBC Radio 2, which culminated in a Terry Wogan session. A tour of support for the single is planned. In March 2016, she will return to C2C in two slots.

Carolynne unveiled her debut 5 song album "Coming Back To Me" on April 7, 2017 and was later nominated for two British Country Music Association Awards.

Acting career

Poole has appeared on stage in pantomime since 2005 and has also appeared in short films. In August 2008, she shot her first feature film, Playing Frankie, which was released in 2011. Sue appeared in Bill Kenwright's UK tour of Dreamboats and Petticoats in 2010, and she appeared in Eric and Ernie, the BBC film Eric and Ernie. Poole was a teenager in Emmerdale in May 2012.
