Monica Pauline "Nikki" Santos Gil-Albert (born August 23, 1987) is a Filipino singer, actress, host, and former TV jockey.

She is best known for her appearance in Carlo J. Caparas' Pieta (2008–2009), and she also appeared in Princess Punzalan's role in the afternoon drama Nagsimula sa Puso (2009–2010).

Jennifer "Jenny" La Pea's lead role in the 2012 revival of Salvador Royales' Mundo Man ay Magunaw's 1990 radio serial, also known for her lead role as Jennifer "Jenny" La Pea, which was directed by SEIKO Films.

Personal life

Dani Gil, who also plays the piano, is her sister. Dani assisted Nikki in writing her songs. Nikki performed in front of a captive audience in a church as a worship leader before entering the entertainment industry.

Gil started dating Billy Crawford in 2008, and their relationship came to an end in 2013. Crawford's infidelity sparked the breakup, but Gil continued celibate until marriage: "I'm sure I would have said yes to his insincere offers of marriage," she says. She explained that she had been preparing to lose. "I was led to believe I was making these things in my head" I thought we were just plateauing." On November 21, 2015, Gil married BJ Albert (nephew of singer-actress Joey Albert). Gil gave birth to her first child, a boy, in November 2017. She has moved away from showbiz to focus on her family life.

After appearing in a 2005 Coca-Cola commercial, Gil first came to fame when she was 17 years old. After that, she released Nikki Gil, her first self-titled album, in the Philippines with "Sakayan ng Jeep" as the carrier single. It was repackaged and relaunched in 2006 with the addition of "Glowing Inside" as a new song. Nikki and other Asian artists (Vince Chong of Malaysia and Alicia Pan of Singapore) were recruited by EMI Philippines and Walt Disney Records in July 2006 to sing and act in "High School Musical," a Disney Channel production. On the album's soundtrack, Nikki also sang "Breaking Free" and "Gotta Go My Own Way."

Gil released "Hear My Heart" as the carrier single on her second album in 2008, her second music album. Dani, her younger sister, co-wrote the song. "It's a Small World After All" by Disney's pop star Laura Bertrin recruited her to sing and act in the pop version of "It's a Small World After All" for the same year. In addition, she was invited to perform the Tagalog version of the song at the grand opening of "It's a Small World" in Hong Kong Disneyland.

In 2010, Gil released "Somebody to Love" as the carrier single on her third music album, as her younger sister Dani wrote. In the Manila production of the musical Legally Blonde based on the 2001 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer motion picture Legally Blonde and Amanda Brown's book, Elle Woods played Elle Woods.

Nikki started Nikki in 2014 with Universal Records, her latest recording company.

Gil served as a VJ for ABS-CBN's music channel affiliate MYX until she left MYX in January 2016. MRS on ABS-CBN and morning show Breakfast on Studio 23 were also selected to host the now-defunct talk show MRS on ABS-CBN and Morning Show Breakfast. She will appear on the cast of the weekly variety show ASAP Mania later this year. Toni Gonzaga, Bianca Gonzalez, and Sam Milby were among the first hosts of Pinoy Dream Academy, a Endemol-sponsored singing reality show. In 2007, she appeared in "Rounin" an anime-inspired fantasy series and as an extended cast for the drama film "Pangarap na Bituin." Toni Gonzaga and Billy Crawford were selected to be the host for Pinoy Dream Academy's season two in 2008. She appeared in "Pieta," a morning teleserye with Ryan Agoncillo, in 2009, as well as the teleserye "Florinda" with Maricel Soriano. With ASAP XV, Nikki Gil is one of ABS-CBN's mainstays. In 2010, she and Luis Manzano and Ogie Diaz began hosting E-Live, alongside Luis Manzano and Ogie Diaz. Anne Curtis was also on showtime a fair amount of times.

Gil made her first movie appearance in 2007 by playing John Lloyd Cruz's best friend for One More Chance. She appeared in And I Love You So, a Star Cinema film starring Bea Alonzo, Sam Milby, and Derek Ramsay in 2009. In 2010, she appeared in a romance film called The Red Shoes, a Unitel Pictures film starring Marvin Agustin, which received the Best Picture at the 27th Bogota International Film Festival.

Gil appeared in the Salvador Royales film Mundo Man ay Magunaw as Jennifer la Pena in 2012.

She appeared in Apoy Sa Dagot as young Odessa in 2013 and later became a main antagonist in Maria Mercedes' reimagination as Misty. In the same year, Nikki Gil was named Best Single Performance By An Actress for her role in "MMK" on the 2013 PMPC Star Awards For Television.

She appeared on Hawak-Kamay in 2014, playing Meann.

Through a musical performance called 'Carousel' from Repertory Philippines, she is expected to return to showbiz.
