On May 9, 2016, he received The Voice UK.

Simm was involved in the group Liberty X from 2001 to the band's dissolution in 2007 and is currently the group's lead singer. Wet Wet Wet Wet Wet Wet Wet Wet Wet Wet is a film by the author.

Early life

Simm was born in Chorley, Lancashire, England, on September 5th, 1980. Between 1991 and 1996, he attended St Anne's Primary School and St. Mary's Catholic Technology College in Leyland, where he demonstrated promise as a junior footballer. In his last year in secondary school, he performed "Daniel" by Elton John in the school's annual exhibition. Simm began focusing on music and joined AnAlien, a local indie band, where he started writing his own material. He applied to be on the ITV talent show Stars in Their Eyes, where he appeared as Simon Fowler of Ocean Colour Scene. Simm auditioned for the ITV reality TV show Popstars after a few years of writing and performing on the northern pubs and clubs circuit, as well as spending a summer season in a band called Force 5 with James Fox.

ITV hit Popstars - that launched the careers of Myleene Klass and Kym Marsh - goes viral two decades on as fans reflect on 'unhinged' moments that would NEVER make it to air now

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 23, 2024
Noughties juggernaut Popstars has gone viral two decades on after the series resurfaced on YouTube.  The 2001 reality show followed aspiring singers in a documentary-style series as they competed to impress judges 'Nasty' Nigel Lythgoe, Nicki Chapman and Paul Adam and be selected to form a pop group.  The winners of the series - Danny Foster, Myleene Klass, Kym Marsh, Suzanne Shaw and Noel Sullivan - went on to form the chart topping group Hear'Say. The winners of the series - Danny Foster, Myleene Klass , Kym Marsh , Suzanne Shaw and Noel Sullivan - went on to form the chart topping group Hear'Say.Meanwhile, runners-up Michelle Heaton , Tony Lundon, Kevin Simm, Jessica Taylor and Kelli Young went on to eclipse the winner's success after forming the group, Liberty X. Yet 23 years on from the groundbreaking series airing, fans have been rewatching the series in a different light, being left flabbergasted by the fat-shaming, misogyny and exploitation of contestants. So what were the moments that would never make it to air now? MailOnline takes a look back at the shocking scenes on Popstars.

Liberty X star Kevin Simm reveals he was left 'desperate' after his time in the chart-topping band and had to work on a building site to feed his family

Kevin Simms, a former Liberty X singer, has opened how he fell on hard times and left 'desperate' after the band's split. The singer, now 43, rose to fame in the group alongside Michelle Heaton on ITV's Popstars in 2000 and went on to win ten UK Top 20 singles. However, Kevin's solo career was shattered and the self-confessed 'grafter' was forced to work as a fencer and electrician in order to provide his young family.
