According to an ER doctor, here are four things you should NEVER do in a medical emergency

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 19, 2023
Dr. John Torres, an emergency specialist at Premier Urgent Care in Colorado Springs and senior medical contributor to NBC News, has compiled a list of the top four mistakes that patients make in an emergency. Patients should not (1) call loved ones first in an emergency, according to him. This is wasting valuable time, and instead, people should call 911 immediately. Patients should not be admitted to hospital (2) because doing so delays medical care that cannot be provided by an ambulance. According to him, it is important not to leave sick patients in the hospital (3) so that someone else can be on hand to explain what happened in the medical emergency. He also advised that you do not forget your phone charger (4) because it will not be known how long you will be on the wards.

Dramatic moment police officers rush into home to save ONE-month-old infant who was not breathing

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 10, 2022
Two Missouri police officers are being credited with saving an infant's life after dramatic bodycam footage showed the pair sprinting into the house of an unconscious baby and performing CPR until she began breathing again. Officers Richard DuCaine and Charles Owen responded to the home of Tajanea Allen last week in Kansas City, Missouri. Allen's one-month-old daughter, Kamiyah, had stopped breathing due to a sudden case of respiratory syncytial virus, or RSV. In the video, Officer DuCaine can be seen sprinting from his car and into the home, immediately taking the baby in his hands from a man in the house. He began performing CPR on the struggling baby, first giving her chest compressions before turning her over to pat repeatedly on her back. 'The baby was so small, she looked like a doll,' Officer Owen said.
