Daizee Haze Career

Professional wrestling career

Haze was developed by Kid Kash and Delirious. Haze honors her mentors, especially Delirious, by imitating some of their demeanors, particularly Delirious' incoherent speech and showing some of their signature wrestling moves. Using a hippie stoner gimmick, she made her professional debut for Gateway Championship Wrestling based out of Missouri in March 2002. The gimmick is a salute to her father, who was a hippie who died when she was fifteen, and the ring name was inspired by her sister's imagination when she tried to change her name legally to Daisy Hayes after Savage Garden singer Darren Hayes. MsChif began serving for the same position at the same time, and the two were introduced together in the ring. Haze began working with IWA Mid-South as the valet of Matt Sydal's, and then moved to compete in the women's division.

Haze made her IWA Mid-South debut in 2003 as the boss of Matt Sydal, but she soon found herself in the newly created women's division. Mickie Knuckles was defeated at the Revenge Served Cold tournament on October 23 in her first match. The NWA Midwest Women's Championship was announced in May 2004, and a tournament was staged at the Volcano Girls show to determine the inaugural champion. In the first round and Rain in the second round, Haze defeated Sumie Sakai, Rain in the second, but Lacey won in a three-way final as Lacey defeated her and Mercedes Martinez.

The NWA Midwest Women's Championship and the IWA Mid-South Women's Championship were merged early in 2005, and Haze took the Championship from Ariel in a six-pack contest at the Givin Em Da Bizness Festival on February 12, 2005. However, Haze dropped the championship to MsChif on May 7 after three months. Haze continued to make brief appearances in IWA Mid-South, including at one point donning Delirious style clothing and dubbing herself Shelirious in a match against Mickie Knuckles on July 9, 2005. Haze defeated the defending champion Knuckles and Sara Del Rey in a three-way match on May 2, 2008, for the second time. Haze participated in the Volcano Girls 2 tournament, but was disqualified in the semi-finals by Knuckles. Rachel Summerlyn, the tournament's champion, earned a championship shot over Haze at King of the Deathmatches. Summerlyn did not qualify for her championship match, however, and the championship was suspended at the end of 2008, as a result.

Haze and Sydal debuted in Ring of Honor (ROH) in early 2004 at the same time as her debut in IWA Mid-South. At the time, women's wrestling was not widespread in the sport, but Haze involved in an in-ring scheme with Allison Danger, who was living away from The Prophecy. Haze joined Generation Next soon after Haze became a member of the party. Generation Next and A.J. was on display at ROH's Vendetta show in November 2005. Styles (who was later identified as Roderick Strong) was killed in an eight-man war against The Embassy. Although Haze had been suffering from the mental torture at The Embassy since becoming Strong's kayfabe mother, Jade Chung was welcomed. Haze was pulled into the ring by her hair during The Embassy's eight-man war Prince Nana. Austin Aries and Sydal made the save but Haze turned on them as she low-blowed both men and proceeded to give a Mind Trip to Jade Chung before siding with Prince Nana. She stayed with the stable until it was disbanded in September 2006, when she turned into a fan favorite and joined B. J. Whitmer and Colt Cabana in their battle against Lacey, Jimmy Jacobs, and Brent Albright.

Haze had an ongoing rivalry with Lacey that was later transferred to Ring of Honor. Haze competed with Whitmer and Cabana in a six-person tag match against Lacey, Jacobs, and Albright at the Dedicated Show in January 2007. Jacobs, Lacey, and Albright all won the game after Jacobs put Haze through a table. The feud rage erupted over the Fifth Year Festival of Ring of Honor. Except for Adam Pearce's replacement of Albright, Haze and her crew won a street fight in a rematch from the Dedicated show. However, Haze was defeated in a singles match by Lacey six days later, after Jacobs intervened.

Haze began feuding with Sara Del Rey, the reigning Shimmer Champion, in the summer of 2007. The two teams met on occasion, but not on the line. In 2008 at the Ring of Honor's 6th Anniversary Exhibition, Haze's first Championship match was held, where Del Rey retained the title. Del Rey's feud widened to include Sweet and Sour, Inc, the faction of which Del Rey was a member, and Delirious came to assist Haze. The rivalry between Haze and Lacey, who had previously been apart of The Age of the Fall, has resurfaced. Delirious began expressing romantic intentions against Haze, but she turned down Rhett Titus, who denied it. Delirious joined The Age of the Fall after seeing video of Haze and Tius together, but Delirious left shortly after as Jacobs attempted to spike Haze, but Delirious saved Haze.

ROH, a weekly episodic wrestling show Ring of Honor Wrestling, joined HDNet in 2009. Haze appeared on the second series, which aired on March 28, where she lost to Del Rey after a Royal Butterfly. On the fourth show, which aired on April 11, she teamed up with Nevaeh to defeat Del Rey and Sassy Stephie. On the 8th episode of ROH on HDNet, Daizee Haze teamed with Delirious to face Shimmer Champion MsChif and her tag team partner Jimmy Jacobs in a match where Haze pinned the Shimmer Champion a Mind Trip. Sara Del Rey, the former SHIMMER champion, and the new Shimmer Champion MsChif were competing in a 3-way match on May 30, which aired on May 30, 2010. MsChif, who pinned Haze with the Desecrator, eventually won this match. She appeared in the 17th episode, which aired on July 11, where she joined Nevaeh's team again, losing to MsChif and Sara Del Rey's team. She has been one of the ROH Wrestling Academy's two head trainers since 2009, the other head trainer being Delirious. She hasn't appeared for ROH since April 2, 2011.

In 2005, Haze began wrestling for Chikara, which was headquartered in Philadelphia. In November 2009, she was featured in her first major storyline in the company when she joined Claudio Castagnoli, Ares, Pinkie Sanchez, Sara Del Rey, Tim Donst, and Tursas as part of the heel strong Bruderschaft des Kreuzes. Lince Dorado and Delirious have since been in the stable. When Haze began working with Del Rey, the two of them gained success over tag teams such as The Osirian Portal (Amasis and Ophidian), Los Ice Cream (El Hijo del Ice Cream, Jr.), The Throwbacks (Dietor Hatfield and Sugar Dunkerton), Amazing Kong and Raisha Saeed), Mike Quackenbush and Jigsaw, and Jigsaw. In her first match on American soil on September 18, 2010, Haze defeated Japanese joshi legend Manami Toyota in a losing effort. In the torneo cibernetico match, Haze represented BDK, where they met a team made up of Chikara originals on October 23. Eddie Kingston had her suspended from the match. The following day, Haze and Del Rey defeated the Super Smash Bros in a tag team match for their third straight victory, and as the first all-female tag team to compete for the Chikara Campeonatos de Parejas (tag team championship), they earned the right to challenge for the Chikara Campeonatos de Parejas (tag team championship), as the time worn by their stablemates Ares and Claudio Castagnoli Haze and Del Rey failed to cash in their points as Ares and Castagnoli instructed them to shield them in a four-way elimination match on November 21, where they ended up being eliminated by Mike Quackenbush and Jigsaw and losing all of their points. Castagnoli came first on Del Rey after losing in a singles match and then Haze as she was standing up for her regular tag team companion. Del Rey left BDK this week, while Chikara announced that Haze would take a leave of absence from the company after suffering a storyline injury at Castagnoli's hands.

Daizee also competes in ROH's sister organization, Shimmer Women Athletes, an all female wrestling promotion headquartered in Chicago. Haze appeared in the main event of their first four shows, which are also known as "volumes" on DVD. Haze beat Lacey with the Mind Trip in a twenty-minute match at the Volume 1 taping on November 5, 2005. Del Rey, a fan of the Royal Butterfly, pinned Haze with the Royal Butterfly to win a four-way elimination main event that also involved Lacey and Mercedes Martinez. On Volume 3, Haze defeated Rebecca Knox, who was unveiled on Volume 3.

Knox, who was angry after her demise on Volume 4, prompted Haze to cancel two out of three falls matches scheduled for Volume 5, which Haze lost by 1. On Volume 6, however, Haze defeated Nikita. On October 22, 2006, Haze and Knox were supposed to resolve their feud in a 60-minute Ironwoman match, but the plan was shelved after Knox sustained an injury while wrestling in Europe.

In the main event, Haze met Cheerleader Melissa, who came out victorious. Haze regained some energy after defeating Tiana Ringer, and on Volume 9, she continued her winning streak by defeating Awesome Kong at the Volume 10 tapings, although she lost to Awesome Kong.

A two-day tournament, televised June 1 and 2, 2007, was held to crown the first Shimmer Champion over the course of Volumes 11 and 12. Haze reached the semi-finals by defeating Portia Hosaka and Malia Hosaka en route, but lost to Lacey. Volume 13 was also taped, allowing Haze to play her first match against Sarah Stock, which Haze lost. Haze and MsChif were their first match against each other for Shimmer on Volume 14 (though the two had competed in a "bonus Shimmer attraction match" before AAW) which Haze was able to win. Haze took on Stock in a number one contender's match on Volume 15, but she lost after being pinned with a Victory roll. On the last Volume of 2007, Volume 16, Haze joined forces with MsChif and Eden Black to face the International Home Wrecking Crew, which consisted of Jetta, Lacey, and Rain. The victory for her team was pinned to Jetta by Haze.

On Volume 17 and Jetta, Haze defeated Cindy Rogers, who were taped on April 26, 2008. Haze did not compete on Volumes 19 or 20, despite being interviewed by Rebecca Bayless on Volume 19.

Haze was named as the head coach of Shimmer wrestling school's first training program, which began on October 27, 2008. Haze competed in ring action at Volume 21's tapings on October 19, 2008. She was defeated by Shimmer champion MsChif in a title match. Miss Natural was defeated by Mother Nature on Volume 22, which was taped the same night.

Nicole Matthews fought her to a 20-minute time limit draw at Volume 23 on May 2, 2009, the second time she ever faced Mercedes Martinez and Sara Del Rey as part of Volume 1. In a "no time limit" rematch with the Mind Trip, Haze defeated Matthews on Volume 24, taped that same night. The following night, Haze teamed with Allison Danger to defeat Matthews and Portia Perez in a tag team match, but on Volume 26 she defeated her student and first graduate of the Shimmer Wrestling School, Rayna Von Tash in a singles match.

Nicole Matthews and Allison Danger were on the tapings of Volumes 27 and 28 Haze on November 8, 2009, due to an accident, the referee assumed the role of a referee for matches between Cat Power and Ariel, Amazing Kong and LuFisto, and Allison Danger.

On April 10, Haze resurfaced in a wrestling role at Volumes 29 and 30 tapings. Misaki Ohata defeated her on Volume 29 and then turned heel and assaulted her. In a tag team match on Volume 30, Haze and Tomoka Nakagawa defeated Ohata and Jamilia Craft, another one of Haze's students from the Shimmer Wrestling School. Haze lost to Ayako Hamada and defeated Ayumi Kurihara by countout in singles matches the following day at the tapings of Volumes 31 and 32. In a rematch, Haze defeated Kurihara on September 11, 2010. Haze suffered an upset loss against Tenille later that day in a match taped for Volume 34. Haze re-formed her squad with Tomoka Nakagawa on the following day, when the two of them defeated Pretty Bitchin' (Nikki Roxx and Ariel) in a match taped for Volume 35. On Volume 36 Haze, she, Nakagawa, Sara Del Rey, and Madison Eagles were defeated by Ayako Hamada, Ayumi Kurihara, Cheerleader Melissa and Serena Deeb. On March 26, 2011, Haze was defeated by Serena Deeb on Volume 37 and defeated Courtney Rush as part of Volume 38's tapings before reaffirming her friendship with Tomoka Nakagawa by saying they were undefeated in tag team matches. Haze and Nakagawa won the Shimmer Tag Team Championship the following day after learning their tapings at Volume 40. (Hiroyo Matsumoto and Misaki Ohata) competed together on the following day. On October 1 at Volume 41, Haze and Nakagawa lost the title to Ayako Hamada and Ayumi Kurihara. Haze revealed that she was resigning from the job following the humiliation. Haze returned to wrestling during Shimmer's tenth anniversary weekend, when she, Kellie Skater, Lexie Fyfe, and Madison Eagles defeated Perez, Kimber Lee, Lacey, and Nicole Matthews.

When Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) appeared on weekly pay-per-view Haze, he was scheduled to make several appearances. MsChif was her first appearance on February 22, 2003, when she competed for syndicated television show Xplosion. Haze continued to appear onstage as Matt Sydal's valet and occasional tag team companion. Haze and Sydal were defeated in a mixed tag team match fought by Julio Dinero and Alexis Laree on July 2, 2003, and Trinity defeated Haze in a singles match on February 4, 2004. She also lost a match to Nurse Veronica, which saw Veronica humiliate Haze by diapering her after winning the game.

Haze has appeared in two ChickFight tournaments. Her first appearance came in September 2006 at ChickFight VI, where Haze faced defending champion Cheerleader Melissa in the first round. Allison Danger also participated in a three-way match, bringing the two wrestlers to a thirty-minute draw. Haze won the tournament and then defeated KAORU in the finals to win the ChickFight VI tournament. Haze returned to the tournament the following year and defeated Skye in the first round before losing to Eden Black in the semi-finals.

TNA Impact, May 1, 2008, episode #05: "Impact" was broadcast on May 1, 2008! In a losing fight to Cheerleader Melissa, Haze returned to TNA, using the alternate spelling of "Daisy Haze." On the May 1, 2008 edition of TNA Today, Haze was also interviewed by Jeremy Borash.

Haze, a ring name Marley Sebastian, appeared in the tapings of the new all women wrestling show Wrestlicious, which premiered on MavTV and BiteTV on March 1, 2010. On her first appearance on the fourth episode, in which she was defeated by Sierra Sheraton, her ring name was cut to only Marley.

Haze won the Anarchy Championship Wrestling's first annual American Joshi Queen of Queens tournament on June 21, 2009.
