Zach Gowen Career

Professional wrestling career

Gowen made his professional wrestling debut on March 16, 2002, defeating Martini after being trained by Truth Martini. When training, Gowen made the decision not to wrestle with his prosthetic leg as he found it difficult to compete with the "dead body."

Wrestling's first appearance under the name Tenacious Z. During early 2003, Gowen first gained national recognition for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. Tenacious Z defeated Truth Martini in a dark match on the January 29 NWATNA PPV. Tenacious Z defeated B.G. on the February 5 NWATNA PPV. James is a student at the University of On this day, he is an American. Tenacious Z, Ron Killings, and Jorge Estrada defeated BG James, Glenn Gilbertti, and Mike Sanders during the NWATNA PPV on February 12, 2012. Gowen left TNA after telling Martini that WWE were likely to give him a contract. Gowan signed a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) deal in February 2003.

Gowen later returned to TNA as the second entrant in the 20-Man Gauntlet for the Gold medal match in the 20-Man Gauntlet on May 15, 2005, at a Hard Justice pay-per-view tournament. He only lasted less than five minutes in the fight before being ruled out by Shark Boy. Gowen defeated Gowen in a six-way match in the Slammiversary pay-per-view last month. Mikey Batts won to a no contest on TNA Impact! before being banned from the sport for the second time later this year. Gowen returned to TNA as the sixth entrant in the Kevin Nash X-Division Open Battle Royal Gauntlet tournament in October 2006, but was disqualified by Johnny Devine.

On the episode of SmackDown, he made his World Wrestling Entertainment debut on May 15, 2003. As a fan of Mr. America who was being attacked by Roddy Piper and Sean O'Haire, I became a plant fan in the audience. Piper pulled off Gowen's prosthetic leg during the segment. This was the start of a short collaboration between Gowen and Mr. America, as well as a feud pitting the two teams against Roddy Piper and Sean O'Haire. This storyline came to an end at the Judgment Day pay-per-view, when Mr. America, accompanied by Gowen, defeated Piper, who was accompanied by O'Haire.

As McMahon was convinced that Mr. America was disguised in disguise, Gowen's relationship with Mr. America put him on bad terms with Mr. McMahon. McMahon told Gowen that if he joins his "Kiss My Ass Club" team, he will be given a WWE deal. Rather, Gowen attacked McMahon. As a result, Gowen and Stephanie McMahon were paired together in the first "real" handicap match against The Big Show, which McMahon characterized as "referring to Gowen and his amputee status in addition to the match's two versus one parameters. Gowen and Stephanie McMahon won Gowen a contract after winning Gowen with support from both Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar. Mr. McMahon's win fuelled the pessimistic reactions against him. Both the two teams met in a one-on-one match at Vengeance, in which McMahon defeated Gowen.

Following each loss, Gowen lost many singles matches to wrestlers, including Shannon Moore, Nunzio, and John Cena, with Gowen being stabbed by Matt Hardy, Moore's mentor, following each defeat. On the August 21 episode of SmackDown!, Gowen defeated Brock Lesnar by disqualification after Lesnar broke Gowen's leg in the storyline.

In an interview on the October 2 episode of SmackDown, Gowen was out of television for nearly a month. This week, he is back in ring for the first time. Gowen lost to Moore after a little help from Hardy, reigniting their feud. As a result, Gowen and Hardy clashed at No Mercy in a singles match that Gowen won. Gowen lost in a singles match to Tajiri, and two of Tajiri's associates assaulted him afterward. Gowen did not return to WWE television due to a back injury, and he was eventually suspended from his WWE service on February 4, 2004.

Gowen decided to concentrate on his education and work limited professional wrestling dates after being released from WWE. He appeared in a number of independent companies, including Independent Wrestling Association Mid-South (IWA Mid-South), where he played the role of an egotistic heel (villain). In 2004, Gowen was a participant in the Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup.

He is also a member of the "Michigan Invasion" heel stable (along with fellow Michigan wrestlers Truth Martini, "Amazing" N8 Mattson, Eddie Venom, and Brian Gorie) in All American Wrestling. Gowen and his mystery partner Krotch became the new AAW Tag Team Champions on April 14, 2007. They then lost the championship to Trik Davis and Conrad Kennedy III in a four-way elimination match on June 16, 2007.

Squared Circle Revue, Gowen, depicts a one-legged boy under the ring name, Pogo The 1 Legged Boy, in a circus-based independent wrestling competition.

Gowen formed "The Handicapped Handguns" team in Prime Wrestling. In January 2013, the pair defeated The Dead Wrestling Society to become the Prime Tag Team Champions. They dominated the sport for three months before losing it to Marion Fontaine and Jeremy Madrox on April 19. Gowen and Iron also won the Clash Tag Team Championship on April 27 as the "Handicapped Heroes." The Handicapped Heroes regained the Prime Tag Team Championship on October 20, 2013.

Gowen made his Ring of Honor (ROH) debut on October 7, 2006, losing to Delirious in a singles match. Gowen would return to ROH in Deer Park, New York, on February 22, 2008, immediately identifying himself with The Age of the Fall. He appeared at an ROH show in Detroit, where he was introduced as the newest member of Truth Martini's House of Truth party on November 12, 2010. In a loss to the Briscoe Brothers and Christopher Daniels, he worked with ROH World Champion Roderick Strong and Michael Elgin. Elgin and Martini kicked Gowen out of the House of Truth after a tag team loss to Grizzly Redwood and Bobby Dempsey at the following day's function in Toronto.

Gowen appeared in Juggalo Championship Wrestling as a member of their 2007 internet wrestling series SlamTV! Per storyline, he started as a villain, but his hard work ethic and wrestling skills earned him the adoration of the juggalo audience. Gowen founded the Pimp & Gimp Connection with Human Tornado after a failed bid to win the JCW Heavyweight Championship from then-champion Trent Acid. The team made an immediate difference and secured a spot in the 8 Team Elimination match for the JCW Tag Team Championship in Bloodymania. After Gowen was banned by Doug Basham, they were unable to win the championship.

Zach formed a tag team with Conrad Kennedy in the JCW Tag Team Tournament for the vacant championship in the following season. Tornado, on the other hand, saw villainous boss Scott D'Amore leave Kennedy's dressing room and became suspicious. Kennedy went after Gowen when the team lost their match against the Bloody Brothers two weeks later. Human Tornado came out to save Gowen, causing Kennedy to withdraw to the stage, where Scott D'Amore met with him. A match was scheduled for Bloodymania II between Pimp & Gimp Connection and Conrad Kennedy with a mystery partner the following week. However, the match was called off after Gowen correctly no-showed the tournament.

On March 23, 2011, Zach returned to the company where he defeated Jimmy Jacobs. With U-Gene, he formed a tag team at Up in Smoke, and he suspected that he might be Gowen's second leg. Though U-Gene cost his team the game by distracting the referee, Gowen forgave him and announced that the team will again compete in the next match. The Ring Rydas defeated Gowen and U-Gene in the JCW Tag Team Championship on July 28, 2008. However, Gowen forfeited the championship after realizing that U-Gene cheated to win, leading U-Gene to criticize him and disband the squad. Both men clashed at Bloodymania 5, with Gowen winning after U-Gene was caught cheating again.
