Dawn Angeliqué Richard (born August 5, 1983) is an American singer, actress, singer, dancer, model, and animator.
Richard began her career after being invited to Making the Band 3 in 2004.

Early life
Richard is of Louisiana Creole and Haitian descent, and he was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. She has one brother. Following Hurricane Katrina, she and her family migrated to Baltimore, Maryland. Music has played a key role in her life from the start of childhood. Frank Richard, the lead singer and percussionist of the renowned funk/soul band Chocolate Milk, is her father. Richard spent much of her childhood learning her choreography and singing skills, but she now works at a Baltimore, Maryland school.
Richard began performing with "Realiti," a local New Orleans company. Richard was soon signed under the name "Dawn Angelique" by Octarve Anderson, Jr. and his Atlanta independent record label, Yeah!, after being discovered as a solo artist by Kemic A. Career
Richard's "big break" came in 2005 when she auditioned for MTV's Making the Band 3 in Orlando, where she was selected to compete for a spot in Combs' future girls team. Yeah! negotiated her release from her job. Brother Records: She began her career by registering with Bad Boy Worldwide Entertainment, which she has since expanded her career. Aubrey O'Day, Aundrea Fimbres, Wanita Woodgett (now known as "D. Woods"), and Shannon Bex are among the contestants who secured herself a spot.
Danity Kane was the newly formed group. One of Richard's drawings gave the name. Richard drew a female superhero who captured Combs' attention while Danity Kane was in the studio. Richard introduced the set-up for her album GoldenHeart on July 17, 2012, with a track titled "Pretty Wicked Things" in honor of her one million Twitter followers. Goldenheart was first available in stores and online retailers on January 15, 2013. Richard was supposed to debut the second part of her album trilogy, BlackHeart, in October 2013, but she announced that the album would not be released until the Danity Kane project. The unreleased music video for "Riot/Northern Lights" leaked on New Year's Day of 2014 was leaked online. The video was originally shelved in May 2013 after Richard and producer Drew Scott parted ways. The video received praise as it continued where the "86" music video left off.
The four remaining members of Danity Kane announced that they were reuniting and returning on their own terms, without Diddy, during the 2013 MTV VMAs pre-show. D. Woods, a founding member of the original group, did not attend the reunion. "Lemonade," the group's first official reunion song, was released on the Internet by SoundCloud. The single was produced by Stereotypes and features rapper Tyga over a sampled from "Grindin'," a 2002 hit song by Clipse.
After performing several songs with Danity Kane, Fimbres revealed that she would be leaving the group at the end of their tour, and that O'Day, Bex, and Richard will continue as a trio on May 16, 2014.
A fight ensued on August 4, 2014, when Richard reportedly punched O'Day in a Los Angeles recording studio. O'Day and Bex revealed in a public statement that the group's second disbandment had occurred days of rumors. Despite the group's breakup, DK3, their third album, was announced on October 27, 2014.
Richard debuted the music video for her lead single "Blow" to Vevo on October 29, 2014, two days after DK3's debut. She also revealed the new release date for her second album Blackheart, which was revealed on the video. "I was able to create something we are proud of with the support of my long-time creative/business partner, Kyle Cabrol," Dawn said. "This project is very special to me." We decided to rewrite the word 'independence' and really push the boundaries of what could be achieved. We are just two people, but we do not operate as a corporation that does not have an entire workforce. Both of us are ecstatic to share this art with the hearts."
Richard premiered "Dance," the first single from The Red Era on September 28, 2015. "I wanted to create a vibrant atmosphere, and finding solace," she said of the single. On October 5, 2015, Blackheart's "Billie Jean" premiered, mingling.
Local Action, a UK company, released "Not Above That" on January 29, 2016. Dawn began her Redemption Live show tour in 2016 and gave her the first-ever YouTube live 360 performance on March 12, 2016.
