Park Jeong-su (born July 1, 1983), also known as Leeteuk, is a South Korean singer, composer, host, and actor.

He was discovered by SM Entertainment and became a student at SM Entertainment's Starlight Academy at the age of 16.

He made his debut in November 2005 as a member of the Super Junior Club in November 2005, and since then, he has been active in the agency's Super Junior-T and Super Junior-H projects.

Early life

Leeteuk was born on July 1, 1983, as the second child of Park Yong-in and Yoo Suk-yeong. Park In-young, his elder brother, is a singer and an actor. In 1998, his parents separated. On several variety shows, he has talked openly about his parents' friendship. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from Chungwoon University. He is also alumnus of Gachon University.

Personal life

Leeteuk was critically wounded in a car crash with Shindong, Eunhyuk, Kyuhyun, and two bosses on April 19, 2007, nearly two months after Super Junior-T's debut of their first single "Rokkugo." They were on the highway when the driver was switching lanes when they heard a recording of Super Junior Kiss the Radio. On the driver's side, the van slid into the guard rail and skidded for about 30 meters. The van started flipping on its right side at some point.

Although Shindong and Eunhyuk suffered minor injuries, Leeteuk and Kyuhyun sustained more serious injuries, which required both to be hospitalized. Leeteuk had glass shards embedded in his back and eye, requiring over 170 stitches. On April 30, 2007, he was released from the hospital. Leeteuk made only a small appearance in Super Junior's debut big-screen film, Attack on the Pin-Up Boys, in 2007. At the end of the film, he was credited as the panda mascot, but it was later revealed that it had been Ryeowook who portrayed it throughout the majority of the film.

On January 6, 2014, although Leeteuk was in the military, it emerged that his father, Park Yong-in, and grandparents were discovered dead in their house. SM's initial statement said that the trio died in a car crash. It was later discovered that it had been a murder-suicide, with Park strangling his parents and then hanging himself. "I will take my parents with me," a note left near the bodies. Park Yong-in had been suffering from depression for a long time, according to the news. On top of being forced to take care of both his parents who were suffering from dementia, he was also struggling with money issues. Park had intended to admit his parents to a nursing home the next day but had to cancel, according to the police. Park is most likely because he is unable to continue taking care of his children, according to the experts. The Super Junior members were in attendance at the funeral on January 8 in Asbury, South Africa. On January 11, 2014, Leeteuk, who was on humanitarian leave, resumed his compulsory military service and was released on July 29, 2014.
