Tony Hadley Life

Anthony Patrick Hadley (born 2 June 1960) is an English singer-songwriter, occasional stage actor, and radio presenter.

Following the company's break in 1990, he came to fame in the 1980s as the lead singer of the New Romantic band Spandau Ballet and went into solo performance.

Hadley is known for his suave image as well as his eltive voice, which AllMusic has described as a "dramatic warble."

Dave Rimmer, a music journalist and author, described his voice as "like a foghorn" — if a foghorn could be imagined attempting to imitate both [Frank] Sinatra and [David] Bowie."

Steve Norman, his Spandau Ballet bandmate, referred to him as having "a wide vocal range."

Hadley has a "strong and articulate voice that none of his contemporaries came close to matching," Tim Rice says.

Early life

Anthony Patrick Hadley was born the first of three children at the Royal Free Hospital in Islington, North London. Lee has a sister and a brother, Steve, and they have a sister, Lee. Patrick Hadley, his father, worked as an electrical engineer for the Daily Mail, and Josephine, his mother, worked with the local health department.

Personal life

Leonie Lawson, Hadley's first wife, has three children: Tom, Toni, and Mackenzie. Hadley divorced Lawson in 2003 after 20 years of marriage, and Alison Evers married Alison Evers at Cliveden House in July 2009. Zara (born 21 December 2006) and Genevieve (born 6 February 2012) are married in Buckinghamshire with their two children.

Hadley is a Arsenal fan and has competed for the Arsenal Ex-Professional and Celebrity XI squad.

Hadley said on the television show Loose Women (22 February 2007,) that he is 6 ft 4 in (193 cm) and 17+12 stone (111 kilograms). He is proud of his work ethic, which he claims was instilled in him at a young age by his parents, and he has never applied for disability insurance.

Hadley became a co-owner of the Red Rat Craft Brewery in 2006, which produced Hadley's Golden Ale and Hadley's Crazy Dog Stout. Hadley closed in 2013 after being associated with the Great Yorkshire Brewery, which produced a lager named "Gold" and a pale ale named "Moonstone IPA." This association has now come to an end.

Hadley is a Conservative Party supporter and an admirer of former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher's. He has attended the party's annual conference and was announced in 2008 to be interested in standing as an MP. Hadley was one of the few openly right-wing rock stars in 2012, according to a New Yorkman.

Call The Midwife review: What would Nurse Crane make of today's cynical striking doctors?writes CHRISTOPHER STEVENS

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 15, 2024
CHRISTOPHER STEVENS: The stick-in-the-muds are usually correct. We're told to 'embrace change' and'step forwards,' but the thing about going forwards is that we have no idea where it will end. The redoubtable Nurse Crane (Linda Bassett) raises a smile at the mention of'progress' like a woman with a kipper in the washing basket, both disgusted, cross, and incredulous all at once. In Call The Midwife (BBC), she confronted naive and idealistic Pupil Midwife Rosalind Clifford (Natalie Quarry) and gave her a piece of her mind.

Even during the heydays of band Spandau Ballet, Tony Hadley explains the compelling explanation for why he never did drugs

www.dailymail.co.uk, December 21, 2023
Tony Hadley has shared the touching - and surprising - explanation for why he has never taken any drugs. The Spandau Ballet legend, who died at the age of 63, was the frontman of the 1980s pop group, which also included Gary and Martin Kemp, John Keeble, and Steve Norman. Tony left the company in 1990 before returning in 2009 and then moving to good in 2017.
