Shane Steven Harper (born February 14, 1993) is an American actor, singer, songwriter, and dancer.
He is best known for his role on Good Luck Charlie as well as Josh Wheaton in the independent Christian film God's Not Dead.

Early life
Harper was born in San Diego's La Jolla neighborhood, and the son of Tanya (née Michaelson) and Scott Harper. He is of Austrian, German, Jewish, and Scottish descent. Samantha, his older sister, is a professional dancer, and a younger brother named Sullivan, who is a model. Harper began dancing and acting at the age of nine, was active in community theater and competitive dance. He also began playing guitar and piano at the same age. He has experience in ballet, hip-hop, lyrical, jazz, and tap. He studied martial arts between the ages of four and 12, and earned a black belt in Karate. Harper was offered by a talent agent on the judging panel of a regional dance competition in the spring of 2006.
Personal life
In May 2011, Harper was in a squabble with actor/singer and Good Luck Charlie co-star Bridgit Mendler. However, Mendler announced officially that their friendship had ended at the start of November 2015.

Career
Harper appeared in a few television series and films including High School Musical 2, ReAnimated, and Dance Revolution before becoming one of the top dancers and the youngest on Nickelodeon's Dance on Sunset. He landed on dance roles in 2006, including lead dancer for the music video Step Up With Samantha Jade, and Cartoon Network's Re-Animated and the Saturday morning kid's competition, Dance Revolution. Harper appeared in the films My Name Is Khan and Flipped in 2010, as a minor character in each.
Harper appeared on Disney Channel's Good Luck Charlie as Spencer Walsh, co-starring Bridgit Mendler, and appeared on an episode of Wizards of Waverly Place. In addition, he appeared on So Random! as the musical guest, performing his single, "One Step Closer." Austin Welch was also featured in 7 episodes in MTV's television series Awkward as Austin Welch.
In March 2014, he starred in God's Not Dead, where he plays the main character, college student Josh Wheaton, who must tell his atheist professor that God is not dead when this professor declares that He is not dead. Harper completed writing "Hold You Up," a song that encourages Christians to stand for their faith in this film. The song debuted at number one on Billboards Hot AC/CHR charts, and it has so far ranked at number 21 on the Billboard Hot Christian Charts.
In the musical film Dance-Off co-starring Kathryn McCormick, he appeared as Brandon. The film follows two cross-town dance teams as they meet for the National National Championships Championship. Harper appeared in the short lived MTV series Happiland co-starring Bianca A. Santos and Katherine McNamara. Stephen appeared in the family film Lift Me Up in 2015.
He appeared in the Fox series The Passion, which was released on Fox on March 20, 2016. In the ABC film Dirty Dancing, Harper played Robbie, a charming waiter at the resort who woos and then cheats on Baby's older sister, Lisa. In the indie film Flock of Four, Sam Grover played Sam Grover. He appeared on the CBS dramas Code Black and Wisdom of the Crowd as a guest.

Harper announced in 2016 that he had signed a historic contract with Capitol.
