Larissa de Macedo Machado (born 30 March 1993), also known as Anitta, is a Brazilian singer, guitarist, dancer, TV host, and actress.

She began singing in a choir from a Catholic church in Rio de Janeiro's Honório Gurgel neighborhood at age 8.

Renato Azevedo, then director of the independent record company Furaco 2000, asked her to sign a deal with the label in 2010, after posting a video on YouTube.

She signed a deal with Warner Music Brasil the following year due to the success of the song "Meiga e Abusada" in 2012. Anitta returned to national prominence in 2013 after launching the single "Show das Poderosas," which ranked at the top of the Brasil Hot 100 Airplay chart.

On YouTube, it's music video has been watched more than 130 million times.

She debuted her debut studio album in July and ABPD's platinum award in July.

Early life

Anitta was born in Honório Gurgel, Rio de Janeiro, the youngest daughter of Mriam Macedo and Mauro Machado; her brother Renan Machado acts as her creative producer. Both children were raised by her mother in Honório Gurgel's impoverished neighborhood.

She began her singing in the choir of Santa Luzia Church in Rio de Janeiro when her maternal grandparents assisted. With the money she earned at 11, she decided to enroll in English classes at 11 years old. Later, she began receiving dance lessons from her mother's teacher. She completed a course in administration at a technical school in Rio de Janeiro at the age of 16. She decided to pursue an artistic career a year later. She was the recipient of the "Revelation of Music" award the previous year.

Anitta is bisexual and identified as a member of the LGBTQ+ group. Mr. Thug, Bonde da Stronda's lead singer, was dated from early 2011 to the end of 2012. After watching one of her videos performing, Anitta was invited by funk carioca producer Renato Azevedo (known as Batutinha) to perform some experiments in 2010. After being approved, she signed with Furaco 2000, an independent recording company. The promotional single "Eu Vou Ficar," which was included on the Armagedom DVD released by Furaco 2000, was released on radio stations in Rio de Janeiro that year. She was advised by her manager to use another "t" in the stage name. On the second version of the DVD, a year ago, the song "Fica Só Olhando" was included.
