Courtney Freckleton (born 17 January 1990), better known by his stage name Nines, is a British rapper and songwriter from Harlesden, North West London.

After releasing a string of mixtapes between 2011 and 2015, Nines signed to XL Recordings and released his debut album One Foot Out (2017), which charted in the top 4 of the UK Albums Chart.

He later released a short film entitled ‘Crop Circle’ two days after this he released an album under the same name of the film on 20 April 2018.

With features from artists such as Dave, Skrapz, Yung Fume, SL, Ray BLK and Haile from WSTRN.

Early life

Hailing from Harlesden. He grew up in Church End Estate in North-West London. His older siblings are Tyrone and Wayne Freckleton. In April 2008, Nines' brother, Wayne Freckleton (also known as Brandszino usually shortened to Zino), was gunned down and murdered in an alleged gangland attack.

Nines' debut mixtape From Church Road to Hollywood was released in 2012. After his release from the music scene due to his detention, Gone Till November (2013) was followed by a titled. Nines gradually saw a rise in fame thanks to his freestyle videos shared on online rap website SB.TV. Loyal to the Soil (2004), Nines' third mixtape, Attraction to the Soil (2014), attracted a lot of attention. On YouTube, "Money on My Mind" gained millions of views. He is a member of the Ice City Boyz, alongside Likkle T, Skrapz, J Styles, Fatz, Big Keyz, Trapstar Toxic, Streetz, and others.

"Can't Blame Me" from his fourth mixtape One Foot in 2015 received 19 million views. The mixtape One Foot Intuitive served as a precursor to his debut album.

One Foot Out's first promotional music video, "Trapper of the Year," was released on August 27th, amassing more than ten million views.

Nines were signed to XL Recordings, a British independent company, in December 2016, collaborating with them to release his debut studio album, One Foot Out (2017). The launch date was revealed the day before the product was announced and is now available for purchase on February 10. It made the UK Albums Chart debut at number four, becoming one of the few English rappers to receive a top-five album in recent years, including Skepta, Giggs, and Konan.

Nines' first single since the debut of his debut album, "I See You Shining," was released in early April 2018. In early April 2018, the singer also performed a music video. On the UK Singles Chart, it reached number 37, becoming Nines' first and highest-charting single. It was revealed three days before the album was released that it would be the lead single on Nines' second album, Crop Circle. XL Recordings published it on April 20, 2018.

Zino Records and Warner Records announced Crabs in a Bucket on August 28, 2020. It's the sequel to Nines' second album, Crop Circle (2018). Headie One, Roy Woods, Nafe Smallz, NorthSideBenji, NSG, Tiggs da Author, and others appear on the album. It debuted on the UK Albums Chart at number one.
