Early life and education

Amethyst Amelia Kelly was born in Sydney and grew up in Mullumbimby, New South Wales. Brendan Kelly, Brendan Kelly, was an Irish-Australian painter and comedian, while Tanya's mother, Tanya, worked in holiday houses and hotels. Azalea lived in a house that her father built by hand from mud bricks, and the area was surrounded by 5 hectares (12 acres). Mathias and Emerald Kelly are her two siblings. "My family came to Australia on the First Fleet," Azalea says. My family has been living in this region for a long time, over 100 years. Everyone has a little bit of [Aboriginal blood] if your family lived in Australia for a long time. Since we have an eye disease that only Aboriginal people have," I can tell my family. Azalea has also stated that her father "made her look at [art] as a child," which has undoubtedly influenced her life and work. She started rapping at the age of 14. Azalea formed a club with two other girls from her neighborhood before embarking on a solo career: "I was like, I could be the rapper." This could be similar to TLC. "I'll be Left Eye." Azalea eventually decided to disband the group because the other girls were not interested: "I take everything I do serious [sic]. I'm too competitive."

Azalea dropped out of high school in the search of a move to the United States. She worked and saved money by sweeping hotel rooms and holiday houses with her mother. She claims to have disliked school, but that was only to make her miserable, apart from art class. She also said she had no friends and was mocked for her handmade outfits. Azalea made her way to the United States in 2006, shortly before she turned 16. She told her parents she was going "on a holiday" with a friend but they later agreed she wasn't returning home: "I felt like an outsider in my own country, I was in love with hip hop, and America is the birthplace of that." I was correct." "My mum was screaming," she recalled, adding, 'Just be safe.' I was thinking, 'I'm going by myself.' "I'm fucking mad!" says the narrator. She gained her General Educational Development (GED) and stayed in the country on a visa waiver for six years, returning to Australia every three months to renew it. Azalea was living in the United States unlawfully before being granted a five-year O visa in February 2013. After her dog, she chose the name Iggy. Azalea was accepted as a permanent United States resident in 2018.

Personal life

Azalea revealed breast augmentation in March 2015 while talking to Vogue about her body shape, adding, "I did change something: four months ago, I got bigger boobs!" "I'd been considering it my whole life," she said, being tired of sewing bolsters into her stage costumes and wanting to wear lingerie without wires. "I didn't decide I wasn't into mystery-keeping" after first deciding not to discuss it publicly because she didn't want other girls to feel uncomfortable about their bodies, she concluded, "But then, I realized I wasn't into cover-keeping." "Your image of yourself will change a lot over time," she wrote about having a nose job with Seventeen magazine in August 2015. I think it's important to wait and make sure it's the right option." Plastic surgery is a mental journey. ... I had things about myself that I didn't like, which I changed by surgery. There are other things I dislike, but I've learned to cope. It's important to note that you can't change anything. "You can never be perfect."

Azalea was granted permanent residence in the United States in March 2018.

Azalea began dating American rapper A$AP Rocky, who she encountered through American record producer Chase N. Cashe in late 2011. In a January 2012 interview with Vibe, she announced that they were dating and that, at this moment, they were given the name of Rocky's breakout mixtape Live. Love. The A$AP tattooed on her fingers. She claimed that she and Rocky had tattoos devoted to their relationship, but that his tattoos were not apparent. Rocky said they were no longer dating in July 2012, with Azalea later removing her tattoo after years of A$AP crossed out.

Azalea's relationship with Los Angeles Lakers basketball player Nick Young began in November 2013. In the March 2014 issue of GQ magazine, Azalea and Young were included. They lived in Tarzana, California, together. They announced their involvement on June 1, 2015. Azalea's young had to split after a video leaked on the internet showing Young bragging about bribery on Azalea.

French rapper Franco Montana was briefly dated by the French singer for a short time in 2016.

Azalea began dating American rapper Playboi Carti in late 2018. According to reports, the couple split in December 2019. Azalea, onyx, had given birth to her son with Carti in June 2020. "I'm raising my son alone & I'm not in a relationship" in October. Carti cheated on her and missed their son's birth later in December, according to Azalea. He later refused to sign their son's birth certificate.

Career

When she first arrived in the United States in 2006, she lived in Miami, Florida, and later moved to Houston, Texas. Azalea has lived in Atlanta, Georgia, for a few years, starting with Backbone, a member of the Dungeon Family. During that time, she met future collaborators FKi and Natalie Sims. She predicted that people would laugh at her because "my raps disgusted," she said, but that, after growing up being mocked, she was able to laugh it off. In the meantime, she had met someone from Interscope Records, who encouraged her to move to Los Angeles in the summer of 2010. Interscope will continue to oversee her for a brief period of time. It was during this period that she adopted her stage name, Iggy, the name of her childhood dog, and the street she grew up on, Azalea Street, where her family lives to this day. She began making stop motion animated videos with freestyle rap because she felt she had found her sound.

Azalea's first full-length film, Ignorant Art, was released on September 27, 2011, "with the intention of causing people to question and redefine old ideals." On the mixtape, her song "Pussy" was included, as well as guest appearances from YG, Joe Moses, Chevy Jones, and Problem. She released a music video for her song "My World," directed by Alex/2tone in November 2011. Tiny Lister, a character actor and former wrestler, appears in the film, which attracted more attention due to its increasing success on the internet. "It's supposed to have like, all the ridiculousness of a big-budget '90s video, but then cut and screwed," Azalea, the video's producer, said. Azalea's first studio album, The New Classic, would be released in December 2011 as soon as she signed a major label contract: "I will know what artists will make for a dynamic collaboration" when she starts. Azalea's third film from Ignorant Art, "The Last Song," was released on January 11, 2012.
