Early life
Grant was born in Brixton and raised in Ladbroke Grove, West London,. Grant's father, who is of Afro-Trinidadian origins, is a former musician, and his Welsh mother, Amber, is a former jungle DJ. He was named by his mother after the revolutionary Che Guevara.
Since the age of six, he has been rapping. He was educated locally at Middle Row Primary School and then moved to Holland Park School. To pursue his musical career, he dropped out of a criminal justice course at London Metropolitan University. He is an avid follower of Tottenham Hotspur.
Career
Tracey's music can be found online dating back to June 2011. Looney Tell 'Em, an early SoundCloud account, has eleven songs available, with each of them allowing free downloads. Four songs from Spooky and Rude Kid's scratched out exclusive beats and two songs from Didn't Make the Cut, which were originally scheduled for release on the scrapped hip hop mixtape Fuck a Fairytale. Didn't Make the Cut, his debut mixtape, was released on September 13th, 2012, and it features 21 UK rap and grime songs and freestyles, which, in his own words, are "the songs that didn't make it into my real mixtape." Scirocco Musik was supposed to be the project's name, and its artwork now reflects this. My Team Paid, his crew's name, announced in August 2013 that they were going to debut My Team Paid, a joint mixtape. One single project, "Clouded Skies," was launched, but it was ultimately scrapped. No More Looney, Tracey's second mixtape, was released by DatPiff on August 30, 2014. Tracey's debut on pirate radio stations and the unveiling of his debut EP The Front in mid-2015 attracted the most attention at first. AJ Tracey modelled for the OVO clothing line in 2018. Tracey debuted Not3s' single "Butterflies" in May 2018. The album became AJ Tracey's commercial breakthrough, peaking at number 19 on the UK Singles Chart. The single was followed by "Lo(v/s)er," which peaked at number 38, which was followed by "Lo(v/s)er." Tracey appeared on Craig David's album "The Time Has Come" and is now teaming up on the track "Somebody like me." Secure the Bag, AJ Tracey's sixth EP, appeared on October 6, 2020. On Twitter, 2 was announced and then launched on November 27, 2020. The EP debuted on the UK Albums Charts at number 75.
