Woods' debut, an EP titled Purple Thoughtz Vol. On January 19, 2014, the first one was released. Woods' project, which was described as "phonk" and receiving cloud rap beats from The Guardian due to their psychedelic and "trippy" production, received a greater focus on lyricism than any other part of their career, and was released with the single "White Shit" which also included a video. Following Wood's break into mainstream culture, the track, which was made by Spaceghosthostpurrp, went viral in 2017 within hip-hop circles. Shortly after the launch of Purple Thoughtz Vol., a new edition of the Purple Thoughtz Vol. was announced. Woods piqued the attention of then-business staples like the ASAP Mob.

DJ Diamond Kuts appeared on Woods' album and released their first mixtape, The Real Uzi, on August 5, 2014. Woods signed a major contract with Atlantic Records through DJ Drama, Don Cannon's, and Leighton Morrison's imprint, Generation Now, shortly after the launch of The Real Uzi.

Woods appeared on Carnage's single "WDYW" after they were signed to Atlantic Records, alongside Rich the Kid and ASAP Ferg. On SoundCloud, they also released "No Wait" ("Pressure"), a Metro Boomin song that is a collaboration with Lil Durk and "Dej Loaf." In August 2015, they were featured on Fall Out Boy and Wiz Khalifa's "Boys of Zummer" tour. On October 30, 2015, Woods' second mixtape, Luv Is Rage, was released. The initiative, which features work from then-bubbling artists such as Sonny Digital, TM88, and Maaly Raw, as well as Billboard charting rappers such as Wiz Khalifa and Young Thug, has received raves and was distributed on several music websites, including Fader, XXL, and Vibe. The mixtape debuted on the Billboard 200 chart at number 37, marking Woods' first appearance on the chart. The campaign lasted 55 weeks on the Billboard 200 album chart before being awarded Gold. Woods unveiled the video for the single "Money Longer" on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, their first appearance on the charts, on July 2, 2016, riding the wave of appreciation that the XXL Freshman list had thrown them, with the single debuting at number 92. Woods appeared on SoundCloud as part of the Weeknd's tour, and the song was released as an official single the following week. "Xo Tour Llif3," the rapper's highest charting song and biggest song, debuted on Billboard Hot 100 at number 49 and peaked at number seven on April 4, 2017, becoming the rapper's highest charting hit and highest song as of August 2018.

Luv Is Rage 2 was postponed again on April 2, 2017, with Woods blaming it on DJ Drama. Don Cannon said that the project would not be announced "any time soon" and that "XO Tour Llif3" would be on the album. On fellow rapper Playboi Carti's album "Woke Up Like This," Uzi was featured. It was published on April 7, 2017, and it is Carti's first commercial mixtape, Playboi Carti (2017). The single was performed by the two performers at Coachella 2017.

"Woke Up Like This" was eventually certified platinum and peaked at number 76 on the Billboard Hot 100. Woods teased a potential sequel to Lil Uzi Vert vs. The World, possibly called Lil Uzi Vert vs. The World 2 and a Playboi Carti project entitled 16*29. The "16*29 tour" was confirmed in October as a joint tour with Playboi Carti, further promoting the possibility of a joint venture. The Eternal Atake's cover art refers to the cult Heaven's Gate logo. According to the two survivors of the cult, court action could be taken against Uzi for imitating the logo style.

The art was the object of a lawsuit posed by the two remaining members of the company over a legal attack. "New Patek," Eternal Atake's then-thought lead single, was released on September 18, 2018. Uzi appeared on Lil Pump's single "Multi Millionaire" in the 1980s. The single was released on October 5, 2018, and it is from Pump's second studio album, Harverd Dropout.

Following brand confusion with Generation Now, it was announced that Uzi had joined Roc Nation in April 2019. In April 2019, two new promotional singles, "Sanguine Paradise" and "That's a Rack," were both announced, and they were rumored to be from their highly awaited studio album, Eternal Atake.

On December 13, 2019, Uzi unveiled "Futsal Shuffle 2020," the lead single for Eternal Atake. On March 1, 2020, they released their second single of the album, titled "That Way." Eternal Atake was released on March 6, 2020, with American singer Syd's sole guest appearance. The album's release date was a week before fans had awaited it. "This Is a Rack" and "Sanguine Paradise" did not appear on the album, and "Sanguine Paradise" did not appear on the site. The Billboard 200 was ranked at No. 1 on the charts. Eternal Atake debuted at the top of the charts.
