Life and career

Wang was born in Hong Kong on March 28, 1994. Wang Ruiji, a fencer, and gymnast Sophia Chow were both raised by two athletic parents: fencer Wang Ruiji and gymnast Sophia Chow. Wang began fencing at the age of ten. He went on to win numerous accolades as part of the Hong Kong national fencing team, including first place at the Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championship in 2011.

Wang was noticed by a representative of South Korean talent firm JYP Entertainment in 2010 and invited to audition in the global auditions in Kowloon. In December 2010, it was revealed that he passed the audition, placing first out of 2,000 applicants. He was given a scholarship to Stanford University for fencing while preparing for the 2012 London Olympics but decided against it due to the successful audition. Wang moved to Seoul, South Korea, in July 2011, for his K-pop studies. He appeared on the reality survival show Win: Who Is Next two years later. The competition was a competition between YG Entertainment (who later became members of Winner and iKon) and JYP trainees. Wang appeared alongside fellow trainees Mark, Yugyeom, and BamBam, who were then selected as members of Got7. "Girls Girls Girls Girls," the group's debut EP, was released. Got It? Wang appeared on SBS' Roommate, his first variety show, in its second season, in 2014. Wang's individual fame increased after he appeared on the program, and he was later named Newcomer Award at the 2014 SBS Entertainment Awards. "The Castle in the Sky" became Billboard's top chart on the week of September 1st; moreover, he performed "Novoland: The Castle in the Sky" on Sunday, breaking away from hip-hop and exploring classical and classical music for the first time. Wang joined Canxing Culture on October 22nd to enter the international market. Wang unveiled a single "Different Game" on November 6, 2018, starring Gucci Mane. Madame Tussauds Hong Kong revealed the creation of Wang's wax figure on December 18, which was announced on the 30th of July. He was appointed as Fendi China's new ambassador on January 14, 2019. Da Yan, a singer and guitarist, created Bullet to the Heart, an interactive video installation space in Shenzhen, from October 24 to October 3rd.

Wang appeared in three tracks from 88rising's album "Heavia Sunrise," "Walking," and "I Love You 3000 II" on October 11, 2019. On December 12, 2019, he was featured on the album "Face Power" by Mr. Connor. KnowKnow's flagship album, Da Money, is a compilation by Higher Brothers' KnowKnow.

Wang appeared on the stage of CCTV New Year's Gala for the first time on January 24, 2020, and performed "The Beginning of Youth" on the 24th of January. Wang released "100 Ways," a self-written single that blends western and Chinese history on March 20th. He founded his fashion brand, Team Wang Design, for which he spent three years as the designer and creative director after three years of development. On July 18, the first collection titled "The Original" was launched in Shanghai with a pop-up store and later became available in China and North America via pop-up shops. In September, he began to produce a limited capsule collection with StockX.

Wang performed "Pretty Please," a collaboration with Swedish duo Galantis, on September 4th. After their exclusive contracts came to an end, Wang and other Got7 members left JYP Entertainment on January 1921. Team Wang has now been operating in the United States since 1996, and he now conducts his international work. In collaboration with Internet Money, another English single, "Drive You Home," was launched on July 29. Wang appears in a reversed timeline story in this self-directed and self-written cinematic music video. Wang declared a hip hop group Panthepack under his name Team Wang in August 2021, naming him as one of the participants, as well as rapper Ice, J.Sheon, and Karencici. On August 28, 2021, the band's single "Buzz" was released, followed by their 10-track debut album, The Pack, in September 2021.
