Son Ji-hyun (born Nam Ji-hyun on January 9, 1990) is a South Korean actor and singer.

She served as the leader and a vocalist of South Korean girl group 4Minute.

Early life

Nam Ji-hyun was born in Incheon, South Korea, on January 9, 1990. Jihyun appeared for JYP Entertainment but was turned down. However, she rejoined Cube Entertainment as a result of YP's recruiting department's failure to find members to form 4Minute.

She graduated from Sangmyung University in Contemporary Ballet and received a lifetime achievement award at the university's graduation ceremony on February 24, 2015.

Career

In 2009, Ji-hyun was elected as a member of 4Minute. On M Countdown, the 5-member girl group debuted on June 18, 2009.

Ji-hyun made her acting debut in the television series It's Okay, Daddy's Girl in 2010, when she was a law student.

Ji-hyun appeared in MBC's weekend drama A Thousand Kisses, portraying Ryu Jin's younger sister.

Ji-hyun appeared in the idol version of Love and War 2, a sitcom that creates reenactments of the issues and concerns that a couple may face in their marriage. In October, Ji-hyun appeared in her first lead role in the mobile drama Please Remember, Princess.

Ji-hyun was the protagonist of KBS' teen drama High School in April 2014. However, she was unable to participate in the drama due to her overseas commitments. Ji-hyun was cast in Love Cells, a web drama in September. She appeared in the anthology film The Youth the same year.

Ji-hyun appeared in the 5-episode web drama Never Die in 2015.

Cube Entertainment reported on June 13, 2016, that 4Minute has disbanded, and that the members are still in talks to renew their contracts. On June 15, Cube Entertainment announced that Jihyun, Gayoon, Jiyoon, Sohyun, and Sohyun's terms had come to an end on June 14 and that the members had decided not to renew their contracts, hence their departure from Cube Entertainment. Ji-hyun also signed a new Artist Company contract to pursue a career in acting after 4Minute's disbandment.

Ji-hyun appeared in KBS' youth romance drama "The Greatest Deliveryman" in 2017. In December 2017, Artist Company founder Son Ji-hyun revealed that she had changed her name to Son Ji-hyun.

Ji-hyun appeared in TV Chosun's historical drama Grand Prince in 2018.

Nam signed a FN Entertainment deal in December 2021.

Nam signed a 2022 deal with Urban Works in August.
