This was one of my favorite live music experiences to date. And we made it all up on the spot. Improvisation is where I face my fears. It’s where I lean on everything I have within while simultaneously trustfalling into the arms of strangers and best friends. Though some of us had never met on this night, no-one is a stranger in this collective we call, Exotech. Because we’re all speaking the dialect of music. And just like talking in real life, sometimes it’s awkward and clumsy and we forget what we were saying and stumble over our words, and then suddenly we find a connection point and see in each other, ourselves. It’s all the things. Everything everywhere (all at once:) If you have the patience, just watch how this whole jam blooms. Let that inspire you for how life can take chaos and create order, how g-o-d can move through wind to arrange the elements for transcendence. When people GATHER to improvise (I include the audience as integral to this act. The pressure doesn’t exist without a witness. And the pressure is crucial), anything can happen and we experience our power to collaborate and LISTEN in whole new ways. So yes. Thank you erineliseholland for capturing this. Shout out to everyone on stage that night. And everyone feeding into this moment in the crowd. Let’s just say I had some stuff to get off my chest…..
