Mary Lambert Life

Mary Danielle Lambert (born May 3, 1989) is an American singer, songwriter, and spoken word performer.

On their album The Heist, she collaborated with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

Lambert is the main artist of their LGBTQ rights album "Same Love."

Lambert's "Same Love" based on her experiences as "a lesbian growing up in a tumultuous, Christian upbringing." Lambert used the material she created for "Same Love" to create the song "She Keeps Me Warm," which she released on July 30, 2013.

On August 24, Vevo unveiled a music video. Lambert's songs, which have often been emotionally charged, have been described as a blend of Adele, Tori Amos, and James Blake.

Her shows are described as "safe spaces in which screaming is acceptable and even encouraged." Letters Don't Talk, her debut EP, was released on July 17, 2012, and peaked at number 18 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts.

Lambert's second EP, Welcome to the Age of My Body, was released under Capitol Records on December 17, 2013.

Heart On My Sleeve, Lambert's recording, was released on October 14, 2014 and debuted at number 29 on the Billboard 200. On January 8, 2016, Lambert attended the 2016 Gay Christian Network Conference in Houston, Texas, which draws over 1300 LGBT people from around the world.

Early life

Lambert, a native of Everett, Washington, attended Mariner High School between 2003 and 2007. Her mother is also a recording artist.

She was born a Pentecostal Christian, but her family was kicked out of the church when she was six years old because her mother had come out as a lesbian. Later, Lambert converted to the Catholic Church of Mars Hill, beginning when she was in high school. Even after coming out as a lesbian at the age of 17. She has come to the conclusion after some time that being gay does not contradict Christianity, and that condemning gay people is antithetical to the Christian message.

Lambert was sexually assaulted as a child by her father and others, and she has described herself as "ending up being a depressed eight-year-old." As an escape from her chaotic and traumatic household, she learned how to play piano and write songs at age 6. Her poetry and music often focus on her childhood experiences, sexual abuse, body image, bipolar disorder, and her sexuality. She lives in Seattle.

Lambert joined Cornish College of the Arts in 2007 and graduated with a Bachelor of Music in composition.

Queer Pop's Next Generation Is Pushing The Boundaries Of A Sexphobic Society

www.mtv.com, June 22, 2022
By Carson Mlnarik Listeners were captivated, intrigued, and scandalized by a rapper's shameless portrayals of gay rights on March 25, 2021. Lil Nas X says, "When I'm ridin', he says "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)," complete with a clear picture in which he makes out with himself in the Garden of Eden and, of course, gives Satan a lap dance. Critics characterized it as a "unabashedly queer" work of art, something the artist nodded to when he took home Best of the Year at the 2021 VMAs. During his acceptance address, Lil Nas X said, "I want to say thank you to the gay campaign," referring not only to a defining moment for a young artist but also a landmark for queer representation.
