Kovai Sarala, an Indian film actress and comedian, is best known for supporting roles in Tamil and Telugu films.
Sarala has appeared in more than 750 films in her career spanning more than 30 years.
She has received the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Comedian three times for her appearances in Sathi Leelavathi (1995), Poovellam Un Vasam (2001), and Uliyin Osai (2008).

In Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, Kovai Sarala was born to a Tamil family. Sarala had an interest in acting after watching MGR's films. She completed her studies and joined the film industry with the help of her sister and father.
She made her first film debut when she was in the 9th standard and appeared in the film Velli Ratham with Vijayakumar and K. R. Vijaya. Mundhanai Mudichu, a 32-year-old pregnant woman, was in class 10 when she appeared in her second film, Mundhanai Mudichu. She appeared in Chinna Veedu, where she played Bhagyaraj's 65-year-old mother. She has appeared in more than 300 films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Sathi Leelavathi, Viralukketha Veekkam, Valiantu Ettana, Karakattakkaran, and Viswanathan Ramamoorthy are among her personal favorites.
She has also worked in television series and television shows. She served on Asatha Povathu Yaaru as a regular guest judge. Paasa Paravail is the reality show hosted by Pama Paraguang.
