Early life
Kiiara grew up in Wilmington, Illinois. She played for the school's volleyball team at Wilmington High School. She also worked as a hardware store clerk when recording her breakout EP. She began a studio internship to help her get familiar with the recording process and to get to practice.
Career
Kiiara's real name, "Bring Me Back," was released in 2013.
She debuted her debut single "Gold" in June 2015 after converting from Kiara Saulters to Kiiara and signing to her stage name Kiara Saulters. "Gold" was selected as background music for a 15-second Apple Watch commercial titled "Style" later this year. The song was her first appearance on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 13. Low Kii Savage's debut extended play (EP) was announced on March 22, 2016. "Gold"'s video gained traction in late May 2016, with five million views in five seconds in mid-May.
Kiiara made her television debut on September 15, 2016, appearing "Gold" on Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight Show." Kiiara was featured on Linkin Park's single "Heavy," which was released digitally on February 16, 2017 and on radio on February 21, 2017. Julia Michaels appeared on "Heavy" at the Philadelphia Bowl later that evening, when she was seated at the Hollywood Bowl in honor of Chester Bennington's vocalist Chester Bennington's death.
She was included in Cheat Codes' single "Put Me Back Together" in March 2018.
On June 7, 2019, she released the single "Open My Mouth." Kiiara announced on September 6, 2019, it would be the lead single from her debut studio album and another single "Bipolar" would be released. However, both were dropped from the final track rankings, though the first one appeared on a deluxe edition of the album.
Lil Kiiwi's debut studio album, "Gold," "Feels," and "Whippin" starring Felix Snow, was released on October 9, 2020, as well as new singles "I Still Do," "Never Let You," and "Numb" starring DeathByRomy and Pvris.
