Career

Jung Woo made his acting debut in 2006 and began his career in small roles on film and television. In 2008, Lee Seong-han's debut as a morally impaired yet lovable villain in action film Spare.

Lee directed Jung Woo in 2009, this time in the leading role in Wish, a film in which Jung Woo had created himself based on his own experience as a struggling youth aspiring to be the top one fighter at his academy. Kim Jung-guk and the character Jjianggu were shot in the film during his childhood and high school, Busan Commercial High School, and Jung Woo's real-life friends participate in the film. The film, which spans Jjianggu's school years to his father's last days, was a official selection at the 2009 Busan International Film Festival, spanning the years from Jjianggu's school life to his father's death. Jung Woo was praised for his work and named Best New Actor at the prestigious Grand Bell Awards in 2010.

Jung Woo played a supporting role as a baker who falls for a single mother in the family drama "You're the Best" in 2013. Lee Soon-shin: Since being cast in Reply 1994, a cable drama about a group of young students from different parts of Korea staying in a boarding house when going to college in 1990s Seoul, his mainstream fame has grown. This was followed by an appearance in Kim Ki-duk's arthouse spy film Red Family.

Jung Woo was born in C'est Si Bon, a 2015 musical biopic. The film was shot in Mugyo-dong, downtown Seoul, and depicted the development of legendary folk music company Twin Folio, which was active from the 1960s to 1980s.

Jung was cast in the gangster film The Boiling Blood in 2019.
