She rose to fame after appearing on The Voice UK's first series, auditioning with John Legend's "Ideal People."

Early and personal life

Becky Hill was born on February 14, 1994. She began playing music at the age of 14 and formed Shaking Trees, a BBC Hereford & Worcester band that won the Nozstock Festival of Performing Arts, as well as a live session for Adam Green and Josh Withey at BBC Radio Shropshire. Hill is a promoter of Walsall F.C. "I've certainly felt uncomfortable branding myself as straight or something else for that matter," she posted on Twitter in April 2021, but queer seems to be the most appropriate representation of who she is." Hill revealed on social media on January 11, 2022, with her long-term partner Charlie Gardner.

Career

Hill has appeared in a number of live broadcasts on YouTube, including a web series called The Rebels. She auditioned for The Voice UK's first series, and "Ordinary People" appeared in the blind auditions. Judges Jessie J and Will.am, the only coaches with an open space on their teams, reacted angrily to her. She decided to join Jessie. She defeated Indie and Pixie in the battle rounds and advanced to the live shows. She was disqualified from the semi-finals of the tournament.

Since appearing on "The Voice UK," David Guetta's "She Wolf" and "Not Giving In" by Rudimental have been released, as have Paolo Nutini's "Last Request" and Alex Clare's "Too Close." Hill appeared on Rudimental's track "Powerless," which is the artist's debut on their debut album Home. Ella Eyre's vocals for Rudimental's appearance at Glastonbury 2013, Bestival 2013, and Lovebox 2013. Hill performed and co-wrote Wilkinson's song Afterglow, which debuted at number 8 on the UK Singles Chart in October 2013, and the album debuted at number one on the UK Dance Chart. On February 23, 2014, "Powerless" was released as a whole single film. The song debuted at number 73 on the UK Singles Chart, peaking at number 73. Hill appeared on and co-wrote a vocal version of Oliver Heldens' "Gecko" (Overdrive) with MNEK. The album debuted on the UK Singles Chart on June 29, making her the first The Voice UK contestant to reach number one.

On 9th November 2014, she released "Losing," a MNEK-produced single that was supposed to be the lead single from her solo album and then label Parlophone Records. The single debuted on the UK Singles Chart at number 56. Hill co-wrote Reigan Derry's debut album "All of the Pieces," a documentary by Reigan Derry. Watermät, a French house producer, released a vocal version of his song "Frequency" with Hill as joint lead artist in July 2015. All My Love" was renamed on the album.

Hill revealed in early 2016 that she was songwriting with CocknBullKid. "Back to My Love," rapper Little Simz's first proper single in two years, was released in May 2016. It was supposed to be the lead single off of her debut album, but it was later included in the Eko EP, which was released in August 2017. During the summer, she collaborated with a number of artists. MK's first appearance on his album "Piece of Me" was with DJ and record producer MK. Matoma was on his debut single "False Alarm" in the second half. She released "Warm," her EP's second single. It was co-written with MNEK and produced by Shift K3Y and co-produced by Shift K3Y. "Rude Love" was her third single at the end of March 2017. MNEK co-written and produced the song. The music video was released in April along with the launch of her official VEVO channel on YouTube.

Hill signed a worldwide publishing contract with Sony/ATV in May 2017 and appeared in a CBBC's The Playlist's episode. Hill's fourth single "Unpredictable" from the Eko EP appeared on the EP as the final release from her own independent label Eko Music Limited in August 2017. Karen Poole and MNEK, who also wrote the song, co-written "unpredictable" in MNEK.

Hill announced in August 2017 that she had signed a worldwide record deal with Polydor Records and that her debut album was due to be released in 2019. "Becky is at an exciting point in her career," manager Alex Martin said when she signed her record deal. Becky's public has only seen a tiny amount of her work as a solo artist and what she can do, and we're looking for the right partner to work with to push that further."

"Sunrise in the East," her debut as the lead cut from her allegedly revived debut, was released in 2018. She appeared on songs including "Back & Forth" with Marc Kinchen and Jonas Blue not long after. "I Could Get Used to This" with Weiss, and then "Wish You Well" with Sigala, which became her first top ten hit in the UK charts since "Gecko (Overdrive)" in the year. She also wrote the song "All Day and Night" by Jax Jones, Martin Solveig, and Madison Beer, which was her first published attempt to make it to the top 10 in the UK Charts. On the 6th of July, Hill appeared at Pride in London on the Trafalgar Square stage.

Hill revealed on social media on Monday that she would be releasing a "mini-album" on Friday, with four new songs. These four tracks were originally intended to be released on their own as an extended play called Fickle Emotions, but the idea was rejected before being included on a compilation album. The album, which was titled Get to Know, was published on September 27, 2019.

Hill released a cover of the Yazoo song "Only You," devoted to her grandfather, who had introduced her to the song's cover version while she was younger.

Hill supported Irish pop rock band The Script on their Sunsets & Full Moons tour in the United Kingdom and Ireland, performing some of her songs from Get to Know. The majority of the dates were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic epidemic in late March of that year.

She also unveiled the next singles from her debut album Only Honest on the Weekend; "Better Off Without You" with Shift K3Y and "Heaven on My Mind" with Sigala; both of which reached number fourteen on the UK Singles Chart; and "Better Off Without You" with Sigala; "Space" was the highest-nine on record, but it was not included in the final tracklist.

"Nothing Really Matters" by Tiesto's seventh album The London Sessions, in which she appeared on another song named "Over You" later this year. Pete Tong, Sister Bliss, and DJ Zinc launched "The Art of Rave" on Spotify in June.

In November, she wrote about Alphaville's "Forever Young" for the UK's McDonald's Christmas commercial. When it peaked at number thirty-five, the track became her first song without a joint credit to crack the UK Top 40.

Hill began releasing the singles "Last Time" and "Remember" with French DJ David Guetta in 2021. They reached their high point in number thirty-nine and number three, with the former becoming Hill's fourth top-ten hit.

Hill teased the launch of her debut album "My Heart Goes (La Di Da)" on her Instagram on July 15, 2021, with a trailer that included previously unreleased songs "My Heart Goes (La Di Da)" and "Through the Night" with 220 Kids. Official Charts later announced the tracklist in full. The album was supposed to be released on August 2021. Hill announced that the album would be postponed one week and launched on August 27th, 2021, to bring "My Heart Goes (La Di Da)" to the UK charts. The song, which was released as the album's final single, debuted at number 11 for four weeks, becoming Hill's ninth top-ten single.

Also, Hill received a "Kiss My (Uh Yes)" Girl Power Remix, days before the debut of Only Honest on the Weekend, which also included Anne-Marie, Little Mix, Raye, and Stefflon Don.

Hill's mother, Sheila, revealed on January 25, 2022, that she would perform a song with Wilkinson, a nine-year old hit for the band. It was called "Here For You" and it was released on February 20, 2022. On February 25, 2022, she released "Run," a Swedish EDM duo Galantis collaboration that was published on February 25. On the Weekend, she was greeted with a deluxe version of her debut album Only Honest. It contained singles "Space," "Run" with Galantis, "Hold On" with Netsky and "Here For You" with Wilkinson, the album "Personally" and the acoustic version of "Remember."

Hill performed with David Guetta and Ella Henderson on the album "Crazy What Love Can Do" on April 8, 2022. She appeared at the closing ceremony of UEFA Women's Euro 2022 at Wembley Stadium in July 2022, after which she was trolled online due to the silver leotard she wore for the occasion. She appeared in the beach volleyball competitions at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Hill co-produced with British DJ Joel Corry on the song "History" on August 5, 2022.
