Jeremy and Chelsey married in February 2018, and they have a child named Bay. Allie, Bieber's daughter, is also a stepmother. You walk with the Holy Spirit when you accept Jesus. "I just want to be led by the Holy Spirit." Bieber had several run-ins with the law around the world before his first arrest in 2014, including when he was found guilty of reckless driving in his neighborhood in 2012 and charged in Brazil with vandalism in 2013. Bieber was accused by one of his neighbors in Calabasas, California, of throwing eggs at his house on January 9, 2014, causing thousands of dollars in losses. Bieber and singer Khalil were arrested in Miami Beach, Florida, on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI), driving with a six-month license, and refusing arrest without violence. Bieber, according to police, told investigators he had consumed alcohol, smoked marijuana, and obtained prescription drugs. He was released from these charges on a $2,500 bond. According to a toxicology report, Bieber had THC (a key component of cannabis) and the anti-anxiety drug Xanax in his system at the time of his detention. However, he reflected on this event in January 2021, noting it as "not [his] finest hour" and advising followers to "let the forgiveness of Jesus take over and watch your life blossom into all that God has created" in January 2021.

Following Bieber's detention on the DUI charge, more than 270,000 protesters petitioned the White House, asking that he be barred from the United States. Although the number of signatures collected was sufficient to warrant a response under officially published White House policies, the Obama administration gave no further details on the petition. Harlan York, an immigration law specialist, said the chances of Bieber being deported was very slim. "About a decade ago, the Supreme Court announced that driving under the influence, usually does not constitute a reason to sue someone."

Bieber was chastised for writing a letter in the Anne Frank House's guestbook in April 2013, which read: "Unfortunately inspiring to be here." Anne was a wonderful girl. Hopefully she was a belieber. Bieber's message was widely circulated on social media for apparent insensitivity and narcissism. "He's 19. He's 19." Bieber was defended by Anne Frank, who said, "He's 19. He lives a strange life, but he doesn't mean bad things [...] He was very interested in Anne Frank's tale and stayed for more than an hour. We hope that his visit will encourage her followers to learn more about her personal life and hopefully read the diary.

Bieber was charged with one misdemeanour count of vandalism in California on July 9, 2014, for throwing eggs at his Calabasas neighbor's house in January. Since the eggs were thrown, police said they had a video of him high-fiving relatives. The Los Angeles County Superior Court ordered him to $80,900 in restitution, two years of anger management, complete 12 weeks of anger management, and five days of community service in what the district attorney called a negotiated settlement. Since then, he has permanently relocated to Beverly Hills, California.

The January DUI lawsuit was settled with a plea bargain; Bieber pled guilty to resisting an officer without violence, and a lesser charge of driving without due care and attention was dismissed. He was fined US$500 and sentenced to attend a 12-hour anger management course and a program that addresses the consequences of drunken driving on victims. He made a US$50,000 contribution to Our Kids, a local children's charity as part of the plea bargain.

He was released shortly after, and his counsel attributed the incident to "the unwelcome presence of paparazzi." An assault charge against him was dropped on September 8, a teen charged with assault was dropped against him on January 29 for a traffic collision in December 2013. He was expected to appear in Argentina within 60 days by a Buenos Aires court in November 2014 to testify on a suspected assault on a photographer. Bieber was charged with sexual harassment by an anonymous woman, simply known as "Danielle," who claimed on Twitter that the singer had committed non-consensual sexual activities at a Four Seasons hotel in Austin, Texas, in March 2014, while then-girlfriend Selena Gomez was accused of sexual assault. The woman said she was inspired to tell her story by 'itsgabby,' a Twitter user who had accused actor Ansel Elgort of sexual assault the week before. Bieber denied all charges in a series of tweets, saying that sexual assault "is something I don't take seriously." He had clear evidence that he was not present in the hospital at the time of the suspected shooting, dismissing all charges. Bieber had tested positive for COVID-19 in February 2022, two days after embarking on his fourth concert tour, Justice World Tour, it was announced. Bieber revealed in June that he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome type 2 and that half of his face had been paralyzed. Due to the illness, he cancelled and postponed concerts and appearances, but returned to live performances in late July. Bieber's remaining dates of the tour would be postponed due to him prioritizing his health, which was announced two days after the first concert in Latin America as part of the Rock in Rio festival. "After being off stage, the exhaustion overwhelmed me," the singer said on social media, and he realized that I must prioritize my health right now." So for the time being, I'm going to take a break from touring. I'm going to be fine, but I need to rest and get better."
