Tovino was born in Irinjalakuda, Thrissur's younger brother of Adv. Adv. Sheela Thomas and Ellikkal Thomas. Tingston Thomas and Dhanya Thomas are his siblings. He completed primary schooling at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School in Irinjalakuda and Secondary (Plus Two) schooling from St Mary's Higher Secondary School in Irinjalakuda and graduated with a bachelor's degree in electronics and communication engineering from Tamil Nadu College of Engineering, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. He was a member of Don Bosco High School's handball team and also helmed as the school's leader. He began working as a software engineer at Cognizant Technologies. He was involved in sports, fitness, and modeling.
