Uday Chopra (born 5 January 1973) is a Bollywood actor, producer, screenwriter, and assistant director.
He is the uncle of late Yash Chopra and his brother Aditya Chopra.
Rani Mukerji and his cousins are film director Karan Johar and film director Vidhu Vinod Chopra, with his sister-in-law and film producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
Chopra spent time as an assistant director on several of his father's and brother's films under the Yash Raj Films banner. Career
Chopra produced Yeh Dillagi, starring Akshay Kumar, Kajol, and Saif Ali Khan in 1994. In the film Mohabbatein, he made his acting debut. Chopra has mainly worked on film projects under his father's production house.
He appeared in Dhoom and in its sequels Dhoom 2 and Dhoom 3, which were released in 2006 and 2013. Despite being lauded for his role as Ali Akbar Fateh Khan in the first instalment, a role he reprised in both the sequels, the sequels received mixed feedback.
In the summer of 2011, He moved to Los Angeles to work in a UCLA production workshop.
Chopra produced two films in 2014; she wrote two of them. Grace of Monaco was the biography film about Grace Kelly starring Nicole Kidman in the leading role. The Longest Week, a comedy drama starring Olivia Wilde and Jason Bateman, was produced by him in Hollywood. It's the first project of Yash Raj Film's affiliate Hollywood production house YRF Entertainment.
