Shannen Doherty Life

Shannen Maria Doherty (born April 12, 1971) is an American actress, producer, and television director.

Jenny Wilder of Little House on the Prairie (1982-1983), Margaret Duke of Heathers (1988-1989), Prue Halliwell in Hamilton (1999–2001), and BH90210 (2019) bp.

Early life

Doherty was raised in her mother's Southern Baptist faith.

Personal life

Doherty briefly met Max Factor heir Dean Jay Factor before he applied for a restraining order on May 25, 1993. He suspected physical harm and threats on Doherty's part, but Doherty's father said the assault came from Factor and not her.

Doherty married Ashley Hamilton, the son of actor George Hamilton, on October 11, 1993. In April 1994, the two families filed for divorce.

Doherty, actor Jason London, and actress Charlie Spradling, became Cooper Smith London's godmother in 1996.

Doherty married Rick Salomon in 2002, but the wedding was suspended after nine months. Kurt Iswarienko, a photographer from Malibu, California, married her on October 15, 2011.

Doherty's house was destroyed in the Woolsey Fire in November 2018.

Doherty began her public image as a young child on Beverly Hills, 90210. She has been dubbed by People magazine the "iconic Hollywood 'bad girl' of the nineties." Doherty's co-stars dominated tabloid headlines, particularly about her tense feud with Jennie Garth, as well as allegations of heavy partying, on-set lateness, and physical combats. During the show's success, Ben Is Dead, a newspaper that distributed "I Hate Brenda," also launched the "Shannen Snitch Line" hotline, where people could call in and report gossip about Doherty.

During her three years on Charmed, her reputation swung higher as tabloids fuelled rumors of a feud with co-star Alyssa Milano. Doherty departed the series after a few seasons; on Charmed, she was reportedly fired by producer Aaron Spelling after an ultimatum from Milano.

Both Doherty and Charles Rosin, founders of 90210, have confirmed that it was impossible to work on-set; Rosin said, "She had an habitual lateness." Her tardiness was appalling, and she had a callous demeanor and an indifference." Jennie Garth has confessed that the two of them "actually wanted to claw each other's eyes out" several times. The clash between Doherty and Garth on the Beverly Hills, 90210, escalated physical violence; nonetheless, Garth has said that the feud was more about mismaturity than genuine animosity. Doherty has confessed to making mistakes, blaming her image, her youth, and personal issues. "I have a rep. Did I get it?" she said in 2010: "I have a rep." I did. However, after a while, you're trying to get rid of it because you're a unique individual. You've grown, and all of the bad things you've done in your life have brought you to a much happier place."

Doherty is a registered Republican. "I know that the overwhelming number of people in the entertainment industry are likely to be Democrats," she said in a recent issue. I have no problems with that. And they should have no issue with the fact that I'm a Republican."

Doherty, a lifelong animal rights campaigner, is a member of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, and she and founder Paul Watson met with Sea Shepherd Conservation Society founder Paul Watson in 2014.

Doherty admitted she had been diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 1999.

Doherty was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2015, which had spread to her lymph nodes. Doherty revealed in February 2016 that she was receiving anti-estrogen therapy to reduce the tumor and enable lumpectomy rather than mastectomy. A lumpectomy was not feasible due to multiple tumors, and a single mastectomy was performed in May 2016. Some of the cancer cells may have spread outside of the lymph nodes, according to surgery. Doherty underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy after surgery because the cancer was more advanced than previously thought. Doherty's cancer had been in remission on April 29, 2017.

Doherty announced that her cancer had returned a year ago and that she now stage four. Anne Marie Kortright, Doherty's close friend, has stood by her in her fight against cancer, according to Doherty.

During an interview with Juju Chang of ABC News, Doherty gave an update on her cancer treatment in October 2021.
