Randy Rose Career

Professional wrestling career

Randy Rose began his work in 1974 in Tennessee.

Rose formed Dennis Condy's tag team in the Alabama-based Southeast Championship Wrestling in 1980. The pair first feuded with Norvell Austin before joining Austin to create The Midnight Express, a Austin-based stable. Before Condy left SCW for Mid-South Wrestling, where they reformed The Midnight Express with Bobby Eaton, the trio ruled the tag team scene in the 1980s.

Rose reunited with Condy in the AWA in 1987 after spending some time in International Championship Wrestling. Randy Rose, now known as "Ravishing" Randy Rose, and claimed they were given the right to the term, which had previously been used by Condy and Eaton and later by Eaton and Stan Lane. Paul E. Dangerously, the pair were managed. On October 30, 1987 in Whitewater, Wisconsin, Condy and Rose defeated Jerry Lawler and Bill Dundee for the AWA World Tag Team Championship. They will have a two-month title reign, losing the titles to the returning Midnight Rockers (Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty) on December 27, 1987 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In November 1988, Condy and Rose appeared in NWA's flagship promotion World Championship Wrestling (with Dangerously) — now known as "The Original Midnight Express." Jim Cornette kayfabe received an unknown phone call during a World Championship Wrestling show on November 5th. Cornette was mocked by the caller over Eaton and Lane's loss of the NWA World Tag Team Championship to the Road Warriors on October 29. Cornette recognised the caller and begged him to come say it to his face. Dangerously and the Original Midnight Express struck the ring and began to pummel Cornette and Stan Lane, who were competing in a singles match. It was three on one by the time Bobby Eaton turned up. Cornette wore his blood stained suit jacket on TBS next week, and the feud went on. At Starrcade '88, the teams clashed, but no one was successful, but nothing was figured out. The Midnights vs. the Midnights will be the hottest feud in WCW for months, building up to a six-man tag match involving the managers on pay-per-view in February 1989. If the one who was pinned would have to leave the company, he would have to leave the company. However, WCW (the former Jim Crockett Promotions) was under new management and in transition at the time, and many wrestlers were joining and going. Condy decided to leave WCW at the last minute. Jack Victory was brought on as his replacement and the game went forward, but no one was concerned at this point. Rose will be away from WCW for a while, and Dangerously will welcome the Samoan Swat Team or SST as his new team. In mid-1989, Rose would return to WCW for a brief period.

Rose competed for Georgia All-Star Wrestling Federation and the World Wrestling Federation in 1990 and 1991 (GWF). After 18 years of active play, he retired in 1992 after 18 years.

During his wrestling career, Rose was also heavily involved in charity work and tried to raise funds by being a pro wrestler.
