Club career
Kimpembe made his professional debut for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on October 17, 2014 against Lens, bringing on Thiago Motta after 76 minutes in a 3–1 away win. In a 4–0 victory over Barcelona, he made his UEFA Champions League debut on February 14, 2017, keeping a clean sheet.
In an away match against Manchester United on February 12, Kimpembe scored his first goal against PSG against Manchester United, beating Manchester United in the 53rd minute, turning home at the far-post from an ngel Di Marra corner. However, in the return leg at Parc des Princes in Paris, he hopped to stop a shot from Diogo Dalot in injury time, which was then given as a warning for handball after the referee called VAR. PSG continued to lose the match 3–1 and were then eliminated due to the away goals rule.
Kimpembe signed a PSG contract extension on July 11, a long-term commitment that will run until 2024. International career
After Eliaquim Mangala sustained an injury for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria and Netherlands in October 2016, Kimpembe received his first call up to the senior France team. William Gallas, a former Arsenal and Chelsea footballer, said Kimpembe is the future of the French team in January 2018. Kimpembe's first team debut came on March 27th, a year and a half after his first call-up in a friendly against Russia. In the 72nd minute of a 3–1 away victory, he came on for Ousmane Dembélé.
He was selected to the 23-man French squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Moscow on May 17th. Kimpembe won the World Cup with France in 2018, a tournament in which he spent a total of 90 minutes against Denmark in the group stage.
He was selected in the 2020 European Championships' 26 man squad on May 1821. He appeared in all four matches for France, playing in every minute of the tournament until their eventual loss to Switzerland in the round of 16.
