Ozan Tufan Career

Club career

Tufan left Turkey for the first time in his career on August 1921 when he joined newly promoted Premier League Watford on a season-long loan contract with the option to buy. The loan was terminated early on February 2nd 2022, with Tufan returning to Turkey having only made nine appearances in all competitions. Omer Riza, Watford's Academy Manager, talked about Tufan's struggle to adapt to the Premier League's tempo following his return.

Tufan signed for Hull City, a Championship club, on July 1st 2022, for an undisclosed fee. Tufan has signed a three-year contract with the club retaining the option for a new year. Tufan made his home match against Bristol City on July 30, 2022, scoring a point to level the score.

International career

Tufan competed for the Turkey national under-19 team, which won the silver medal at the 2013 Mediterranean Games in Mersin, Turkey. He also represented his country at the 2013 European Under-19 Championships.

Tufan played his first national match against Ireland in Dublin, May 25th. In a friendly game at 90th minute, Tufan scored his first goal, a long range shot against Denmark National Football Team on September 3rd. Turkey won the game 2–1. "I had the ball in front of me and right when I was going to kick it, Arda Turan supported me to fire," the game's post-match interviewer said. I had the anxiety of losing my shot off-range at a time when it was critical; but I recovered my composure and hit the ball right away. I want to thank Fatih Terim for giving me this opportunity, because I think I've done the best I could do today."

ADAM SHERGOLD AT THE RIDGE STADIUM: Hull displayed battling skills that may well have resulted in a play-off match as Liam Delap and Ozan Tufan's goals stunned Middlesbrough. The Tigers had been second-best in the first half before re-engaging the game. Delap was completely unmarked to begin Tyler Morton's 69th-minute corner by Jacob Greaves.

Hull City 1-1 Bristol City: Nahki Wells earns the Robins a point with second-half equaliser at the MKM Stadium

JASON MELLOR AT THE MKM STADIUM: When Bristol City fought back for a deserved point, Nigel Pearson was in no mood to let his actor pupil take the upper hand. When the Tigers spurned a chance to briefly top the Championship, Wells' second-half leveller halted Hull. Pearson coached Liam Rosenior at club and England Under-21, as well as their first meeting as bosses, but the 38-year-old failed to win for the third straight time in the first round. In the second half, an early opener from Ozan Tufan was cancelled out by Wells, but it was the least the Robins deserved.

The hosts, Sunderland, 4-4 Hull, score 98th minute; Tufan nets 98th minute as the hosts suffer a play-off blow

Jack Clarke scored two goals, gained a penalty, and crowned the winner, but Sunderland was denied by a last-gasp penalty. In the 11th minute, Ozan Tufan led the visitors ahead. However, Sunderland scored two goals in two minutes thanks to Joe Gelhardt and Amad Diallo.
