Career
Bridgers appeared on television shows around Los Angeles as a solo artist while in school, including Einstein's Dirty Secret and Sloppy Jane. Tony Berg, a singer who moved away from college to concentrate on her work, became befriended by her growing presence in the Los Angeles music scene, who began working with her on her first album for free. Sloppy Jane, who was working in an Apple commercial, wanted to finish her album and then sell it to a label rather than attempting to get signed first. This gave her more time and creative freedom to create what would be called Stranger in the Alps. Around this time, Bridgers met American singer-songwriter Ryan Adams via mutual acquaintances, and he released her EP Killer on his name PAX AM. Julien Baker was also on her way to support the East Coast on her 2016 tour.
Bridgers first released "Smoke Signals" in January 2017 and opened for Conor Oberst on his European tour in January 2017. The two had appeared at a tense showcase held by Oberst at the Bootleg Theater in Los Angeles last summer. Bridgers' second album Punisher will be published on June 19, 2020, which was revealed on Instagram on April 9, 2020.
