Michelle Jacquet Branch (born July 2, 1983) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress.
She released two best-selling albums, The Spirit Room and Hotel Paper, in the early 2000s.
With Santana's "The Game of Love," she received a Grammy Award for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals. With the vote-nominated single "Leave the Pieces," she founded The Wreckers, a friend and fellow musician, in 2005.

Early life and education
Branch was born in Sedona, Arizona, to David and Peggy Branch on July 2, 1983. Her father has partial Irish ancestry, and her mother is of Dutch-Indonesian ("Indo") and French descent. During World War II, her maternal grandmother was interned in a Japanese internment camp. After the war, she and Branch's mother were born in Holland. When the family moved from the Netherlands to Arizona, her mother was five years old.

Branch met Patrick Carney of the Black Keys at a Grammy party in 2015, and the two couples began dating during the making of Hopeless Romantic. Branch and her child were able to move into Carney's home in Nashville in 2017. Branch and Carney have a son who was born in August 2018. The couple and their children and two Irish wolfhounds lived in Nashville. On April 20, 2019, Branch and Carney were married. She revealed a miscarriage in December 2020. Career
