Marius Lucas Antonio Listhrop (born 19 June 1994), better known as Scarlxrd (pronounced "Scarlord"), is a British rapper, singer, and songwriter.

He is known for his unusual musical style, which mixes elements of trap music and heavy metal.

Mazzi Mazi Mazzrd, a YouTube celebrity, began a life in music as the lead vocalist for nu metal band Myth City before debuting as a rapper under his Scarlrd moniker. He came to fame after his single "Heart Attack" on YouTube attracted huge interest, with over 70% on the site as of December 2019.

"King, Scar," "Berzerk," "Berzerk," and "Head Gxne" have since been released by the singer.

YouTube career

Listhrop began uploading videos on YouTube as Mazzi Mazhi Mazhu before starting a career in music. His personality on the site was described as a "perky" and "smiley YouTuber" who recorded and posted vlogs in his bedroom. Sam Pepper and Caspar Lee were often associates and coworkers. Listhrop and Pepper embarked on a worldwide comedy-music tour from late-2013 to mid-2014. "WDGAF Tour" began in late 2013. Listhrop rebranded all of his Mazzi Maz videos on his YouTube channel by February 2017 and has since rebranded it to his Scarlrd moniker. Listhrop said in a 2018 interview that his time as a YouTuber and posting videos on the website were "soul-destroying."

Music career

Listhrop formed Myth City, a nu metal/rap rock band formed in 2014, in which he appeared as the singer. Listhrop also referred to the band's sound as a mash-up of rap music and grindcore. The band's YouTube channel quickly soared following a mixed reception for Mazzi Mazi fans, who gave the group a mixed reception; supporters were greeted enthusiastically to Listhrop's screamed vocals, but were uncertain about the comparison between the band's harsh musical style and Listhrop's "smiley" YouTube videos; fans were left cheering for the band's "smiley" YouTube videos. On February 28, 2015, Myth City debuted their self-titled debut EP.

Scarlxrd debuted his new moniker in August 2016 with the release of "Girlfriend." The music video shows him unveiled and rapping over a "humid, tropical hip-hop track." He released two albums, his self-titled album (stylized in Japanese characters as ) and Rxse by the end of 2016. Scarlxrd unveiled the video for "Chain" on 31 May, a week later; after the release of two more albums, Cabin Fever and Chaxsthexry, in April 2017, Scarlxrd released the music video for "King, Scar." He released the music video for "Heart Attack" on June 23rd and the video gained a following; the musician's reputation, particularly the ones for "Chain$aw" and "King, Scar," contributed to the video's success; he attributes it to his continued release of music videos; notably the videos for "Chain" and "King, Scar" were among the video's growing success. He released his fifth studio album Lxrdszn on September 29th. In Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, music kits "King, Scar" and "Chain$aw" were also released.

Scarlxrd will appear at the 2018 Reading and Leeds Festivals in February 2018. It was announced in April that he would be on Carnage's second studio album, Battered Bruised & Bloody, which was released on April 13th; Scarlxrd appeared on "Up Nxw." Via Island Records, he launched his sixth studio album and major label debut DxxM on May 4th.

Scarlxrd's seventh studio album, Infinity, was released on March 15, 2019. After releasing singles from mid-to-early in the anticipation of a new album, including "Hxw They Judge", "Sx Sad," and "Head Gxne."

Best British Breakthrough – An award-winning achievement. "The Purge" appeared on the first season of HBO's television series Euphoria later this year. Scarlxrd's second album of 2019 called Immxrtalisatixn, out on October 4th. On December 13, he debuted Acquitted Taste: Vxl 1, his third installment studio album. "I Can Dx What I Want" was released as the official theme song for the WWE NXT UK tournament, "I Can Dx What I Want" on December 19th. Blackpool II is the second installment of "NXT UK Takeover: The Battle of NXT UK Event. Scarhxurs, his first studio album of 2020, was released on February 28th. The debut of his new album, Fantasy Vxid, was split into five EP's, with the full project slated on June 12th.

Scarlxrd's independent label Lxrd Records released "Let the Wxrld Burn" on January 14th, his first appearance since being dropped from Island Records. Scarlxrd's Dxxm II, a sequel to his 2018 project Dxxm, was released on February 5th. He appeared on Trippie Redd's "Dead Desert," which also featured Zillakami later this year. Lxrd, Scarlxrd's collaborative EP with Ghostemane, was also released by the Scarlxrd. DeadRising, the year's second album, was released on October 29th. Scarlxrd's 14th studio album, Acquired Taste: Vxl, was released on May 13, 2022. Acquired Taste Vxl, a sequel to his 2019 album Acquired Taste Vxl. 1. He was on Corpse Husband's single MISA MISA in August.
