Luke Ford (born 26 March 1981) is a Canadian-Australian actor.

Early life

Ford was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on March 26, 1981, but he was raised in Sydney, Australia. He attended Parramatta Marist High School in Westmead, Sydney, and has served at the Winston Hills Hotel as well as a brief stint with Universal Magazines in North Ryde. Ford spent time at The Actor's Pulse in Sydney, becoming one of the school's oldest graduates. When he was between film roles, he later returned to teach the Meisner method.

Film career

Ford began acting on Australian television, beginning with a guest-starring role on Water Rats, home and Away, Stingers, Breakers, and All Saints. He appeared in the TV film Junction Boys with Tom Berenger as Iphicles in the NBC miniseries Hercules and the short-lived Australian series Headland.

For his recurring role as Craig Woodland on McLeod's Daughters, Ford was shortlisted for a 'Best New Talent' Logie Award.

Ford's film career began with the introduction of the Australian film Kokoda in 2006, where he appeared as Burke, a slain soldier on the Kokoda Trail.

Toni Collette continued his with The Black Balloon, a performance that earned him the Australian Film Institute Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2008. Charlie Mollison, a boy with autism and ADD, appears in the film. Ford spent six months researching the role, including going out in person to determine the accuracy of his persona. The Black Balloon premiered at the Berlin Film Festival, where it was given the Crystal Bear award.

Ford jumped right into the third instalment of the Mummy series, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, starring Brendan Fraser and Maria Bello, right after The Black Balloon. Alex O'Connell, the son of Fraser's Rick O'Connell, and Bello's Evelyn O'Connell, appears in the film. On August 1, 2008, the film was released in the United States and grossed $403 million worldwide.

He appeared in three Acts of Murder and Ghost Machine in 2009.

He appeared in many Australian films, including Animal Kingdom, Red Dog, and Face to Face in 2010 and 2011.
