Callan Ryan Claude McAuliffe (born 24 January 1995) is an Australian actor best known for his appearances as Bryce Loski in Flipped and Sam Goode in I Am Number Four.

Early life
Callan McAuliffe is a resident of Clontarf, NSW. He is the son of Claudia Keech, author, and journalist Roger McAuliffe. Jacinta John, his uncle, is a singer. Both of his grandparents were Irish.
McAuliffe attended Scots College, a private boys' academy in Bellevue Hill. He was the head chorister at the school and dominated the London Trinity musical theatre exams, receiving a high mark in 2008. He was a track star before being injured, which led to a greater focus on the performing arts.
Career
McAuliffe began acting at the age of 8, appearing in the Australian television series Comedy Inc. and Blue Water High. He appeared on Packed to the Rafters for the remainder of his career. He appeared in the Australian independent coming-of-age short film "Franswa Sharl" in 2009, and he also appeared in Resistance (2009). In Flipped, directed by Rob Reiner, McAuliffe made his American film debut. While on holiday in the United States, he auditioned for the film and took the lead role of Bryce. Wendelin Van Draanen's 2001 novel of the same name is based on the film.
McAuliffe appeared in a lead role in the science fiction film I Am Number Four, based on Pittacus Lore's book of the same name. The film is directed by Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay. Sam was Alex Pettyfer's best friend. He appeared in Cloudstreet, based on Tim Winton's book of the same name, starring young Quick Lambs. In the 2013 film version of The Great Gatsby, directed by Baz Luhrmann, McAuliffe appeared as young Jay Gatsby. McAuliffe appeared in Beneath the Harvest Sky (2013).
In Alex Proyas' action film Paradise Lost, McAuliffe was cast as the archangel Uriel alongside Djimon Hounsou. He appeared in the Australian television film Underground: The Julian Assange Story in 2012 as one of Assange's adolescent friends involved in the International Subversives. McAuliffe would appear alongside Samuel L. Jackson and India Eisley in the live-action film remake of the 1998 Japanese anime Kite on February 3, 2013. In 2015, McAuliffe appeared in The Legend of Ben Hall, an Australian historical epic based on Ben Hall's true story, where he portrays real-life gang member Daniel Ryan. McAuliffe's first book, The Hill Ghost, was released in 2018.
