Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri (born 19 April 1970) is a Puerto Rican-born Mexican musician and icon in Latin America, often referred to as El Sol de México (The Sun of Mexico).

He is often regarded as the most influential artist in Latin American history, having performed in a variety of musical styles, including pop, ballads, boleros, tangos, jazz, big band, and mariachi.

Luis Miguel is also known as the first Latin singer of his generation not to venture to the anglo market after the "Latin Explosion" in the 1990s.

Despite performing only in Spanish, he remained to be the best-selling Latin artist of the 1990s and was praised for popularizing the bolero style in the mainstream market.

Luis Miguel has been on sale for more than 100 million worldwide, as well as his personal life and showmanship on stage, has made him well-known for nearly his entire career, which began in 1982 in Mexico.

He received his first Grammy Award at the age of 14 for his duet "Me Gustas Tal Como Eres" with Sheena Easton. He is the youngest male artist to have been honoured with this award.

Luis Gallego Sánchez, a Spanish singer, songwriter, and guitarist, died on "Luisito Rey," and his mother, Marcela Basteri, was an Italian actress. His father was from Cádiz, a southwestern Spain city, and his mother was from the Province of Massa-Carrara, Italy. Luis Miguel Domingujn, a Spanish bullfighter, was dubbed Luis Miguel Domingun. Alejandro and Sergio, Luis Miguel's younger brothers, are among his two younger brothers.

His birth date is set on 18 April, but he celebrates his birthday on 19 April as that was the day his father registered him at Puerto Rico's Civil Registry. During Elvis Presley's childhood, his father, who was also his boss, encouraged him to watch and analyze virtually every film, recording, and concert performance. He recorded his first album, Un Sol, on the Mexican branch of EMI Records, which earned him his first gold disc at the age of 11. He began touring Latin American countries, including Colombia, Venezuela, Chile, and Argentina two years ago. México Por Siempre, the complete album, was released on November 24th. It's been published and it features 14 tracks of traditional Mexican music. The tour began in Mexico City on February 21, 2018 with eight performances, and it will continue throughout Mexico, the United States, and Spain.

Netflix and Telemundo premiered Luis Miguel, a self-titled film that premiered on April 22nd. Along with revealing many aspects of the singer's life and appearance, it also brought back nostalgic moments for those watching it, like the mirroring of his Sabritas ad in the series "Saboritas."
