Christian Nodal was born and raised in Caborca, Mexico. He began singing at the age of four and later learned how to play the piano and guitar on his own, according to Nodal.

Nodal launched "Adiós Amor," which quickly became a hit in Mexico and the United States, landing at number one on the Top 20 General Mexican Songs Chart and number two on the Billboard Top Latin Songs chart in the United States, with number one on the Top 20 General Mexican Songs Chart and No. 2 in the United States. Nodal co-produced "Prodal" by Spanish singer David Bisbal in June 2017. "He [Nodal] a great interpreter but also a songwriter," Bisbal told Billboard. I love what he's doing, and it's an honor to be a part of the early stages of his career.

Although Nodal was also nominated for Best New Artist, Karol G., a Colombian reggaeton musician, was also nominated for Best New Artist, but it was ultimately disqualified for Best New Artist.

Nodal accompanied Mexican performer Pepe Aguilar, his family, brother Antonio Aguilar Jr., daughter ngela Aguilar, and son Leonardo Aguilar in 2018 on an equestrian-musical style tour dubbed "Jaripeo Sin Fronteras" in Mexico.

Aguilera and Nodal performed an entertaining interpretation of the Ranchera-style song Cuando Me Dé la Gana in Spanish, starting on opposite sides of the stage and seemingly inspired by West Side Story. The performance began with a party atmosphere on the stage, which was packed with accompanying musicians and dancers, with traditional Spanish-style guitar picking starting the intro to the song.
