Leonardo Antonio Aguilar lvarez (born August 15, 1999) known simply as Leonardo Aguilar, is a Mexican singer.

Aguilar has been nominated for two Latin Grammy Awards as of 2017. Aguilar was born into a musical family named "La Dinast Aguilar" (The Aguilar Dynasty).

Leonardo Aguilar was born in Pepe Aguilar and Aneliz lvarez Alcalá in Mexico City, Mexico, on August 15, 1999. Through his father, who was born in San Antonio, Texas, Aguilar acquired dual citizenship in Mexico and the United States. Aguilar was born into a musical family named "La Dinast Aguilar" (The Aguilar Dynasty). Pepe Aguilar, a Mexican singer-actor whose paternal grandparents are Mexican singer-actors Antonio Aguilar and Flor Silvestre, is Aguilar's father. Aguilar has accompanied his father on tour through Latin America with his younger sister, ngela Aguilar, who also appears.

Career

Aguilar and his sister, ngela Aguilar, were released Nueva Tradición in 2012, at just twelve years old. It featured four songs by Leonardo and four by ngela.

Aguilar's first solo album, Gallo Fino, was released on December 2, 2016. Pepe's father, Aguilar, produced Gallo Fino. Aguilar collaborated with Espinoza Paz and El Chapo de Sinaloa among other Mexican artists. Gallo Fino was selected for Best Norte Album at the 18th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in 2017. His album "Compromiso Descartado" was also nominated for Best Regional Mexican Song.
