Liz McClarnon Career

Solo career

McClarnon was signed to All Around the World Records after being inspired by Atomic Kitten. On February 13, 2006, she first released her debut solo single, a recreation of Barbra Streisand's 1980 hit "Woman in Love." Graham Stack and Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees co-wrote the song and met McClarnon on her 2005 tour, and she was accompanied on her 2005 tour.

A video was released to promote McClarnon's appearance in a Manhattan apartment, but it was actually shot in McClarnon's home town of Liverpool. With a cover of Jackie Wilson's "I Get the Sweetest Feeling," it was decided to release the single as a double A-side. The single debuted at number five on the UK Singles Chart, but after more than six months since being released, it reached number 16 on the Spanish charts on October 22, 2006. In addition, McClarnon appeared on "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy" prior to her solo debut. With the FHM Hot 100, the UK's most coveted charted at number ten.

McClarnon has continued to perform one more song titled "Don't It Makes You Happy" since her debut. McClarnon performed the track on the BBC's pre-Eurovision TV show Making Your Mind Up on March 17, 2007, and the song was recorded in her bid to be eligible for the UK's entry into the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. However, she was unprofitable and the single failed to chart. Pop band Scooch took the competition.

With Jaime Jay of the Global One Music Project, McClarnon produced "Lately." Various artists have recorded the same song in various languages around the world, and McClarnon has released French and Spanish versions as well as English ones. The single was supposed to be announced on May 18, 2009, but although McClarnon and Jay promoted the single on a number of radio and television shows, it was postponed. Indefinitely.

McClarnon has been writing her debut album since then. In April 2008, she resigned from her old management company and is now being led by Scott Richardson, her ex-marketing manager.

McClarnon appeared in "The Girl With the Golden Hair" on ITV, along with Richard O'Brien ("The Rocky Horror Show" on December 27, 2006. The documentary tells the story of the construction of the mini-rock opera of the same name performed by the band ABBA during their 1977 European and Australian tours. McClarnon performs the three most popular numbers from that show; "Thank You for the Music," "I Wonder (Departure)" and "I'm a Marionette" are among those that have appeared on the program.

McClarnon signed to 3 Beat Records, a division of All Around the World (through Universal Music), on August 3, 2009. "Not in Love," Kylie Minogue's first single on the new label, was supposed to be released in November 2009, and it is a track she has written herself, inspired by Kylie Minogue's electro and club tunes. In 2009, McClarnon performed on the track at the Midlands Festival.

On BBC Three, Hotter Than My Daughter, her debut television show, aired at the start of February 2010.

Beth appeared in Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds in late 2010 and early 2011.

Following this, McClarnon appeared in the first UK tour of Legally Blonde The Musical from 8 July to 17 September 2011. In 2012, she appeared in the Cinderella pantomime in the Liverpool Empire, as the leading lady.

In 2018, she appeared at the O2 Arena for the Country to Country festival.

Natasha Hamilton has claimed she was 'worked to the bone' during her time in Atomic Kitten. The singer, 41, shot to fame alongside Kerry Katona and Liz McClarnon in 1999 as part of the group founded by OMD members Andy McCluskey and Stuart Kershaw. They achieved a run of hit singles, including Whole Again, but now she has claimed that 'exhaustion' was the reason  they and so many of their peers disbanded and by the end, she had to have a doctor intervene.
