Lisa Marie Presley Life

Lisa Marie Presley (born February 1, 1968) is an American singer-songwriter.

She is the sole heir to her father's estate and is the only child of singer and actress Elvis Presley and actress Priscilla Presley.

Presley has worked in music and has released three albums.

She has been married and divorced four times, including singer Michael Jackson and actor Nicolas Cage, before marrying music producer Michael Lockwood, father of her twin girls.

Early life

Lisa Marie was born in 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee, nine months to the day after her parents' wedding date. She lived in Los Angeles, California, with frequent stays with her father at Graceland, Tennessee, after her parents divorced.

When her father died in August 1977, nine-year-old Presley became joint heir to her family's estate with her grandfather, Vernon Presley, and Minnie Mae Hood Presley. She became Vernon's sole heir and inherit Graceland following Vernon's death in 1979 and Minnie Mae's 1980. She inherited the estate on her 25th birthday in 1993, which had risen to $100 million. Presley's estate accounted for 85% of her father's estate in 2004.

She attended her first rock concert in Inglewood, California, in the late 1970s, a year or two after her father's death. After the show, she gifted Freddie Mercury a scarf of her father's and expressed her admiration of the atrics.

When she was four years old, her parents divorced. When Lisa's father died, she was nine years old. Michael Edwards' mother began dating shortly after her father's death. When Lisa Marie was between 12 and 15, Edwards allegedly sexually assaulted her. Presley said Edwards had the habit of invading her private room intoxicated and was injurious with her.

Personal life

Presley and her family live in San Francisco. They lived in a 15th-century manor house in Rotherfield, East Sussex, England, 15 miles east of Saint Hill Manor, the Church of Scientology's British headquarters. Presley said in a 2013 interview with Luka Neskovic of The Huffington Post that she might write an autobiography, adding: "It's not out of the question." Rather than speculations, I would like to live out loud and say what I mean. Lisa Marie gave a glimpse into her personal life in 2005, when she appeared in the television film Elvis by the Presleys. Benjamin Keough, her son, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Calabasas, California, on July 12, 2020. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office listed his cause of death as a suicide.

Danny Keough, a Chicago-born musician, married Presley on October 3, 1988. They had two children, Riley Keough (born May 29, 1989), an actor and model, and Benjamin Storm Keough (born October 21, 1992 – July 12, 2020). On May 6, 1994, Presley obtained a quickie divorce in the Dominican Republic.

Michael Jackson, 20, was married by Presley, just days after she was divorced from Keough. They met in 1975 in Las Vegas, where a seven-year-old Presley appeared at several of his shows. "Their adult friendship began in November 1992 in Los Angeles," a Presley friend says. She was worried about his debilitated health and heroin use. "I believe he didn't do anything wrong" and that he was wrongfully accused, Presley said, and that he was wrongfully accused, and that he was wrongfully accused, and that he was wrongly accused, and, yes, I started crying for him." I wanted to save him. "I felt that I should do it." She tried to convince Jackson to drop the charges out of court and begin to recover from rehab. He later did both. Presley filed for divorce in January 1996, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the separation, according to legal records. Michael Jackson's make-up artist, Karen Faye, later revealed that Jackson had intended to file for divorce first but had relented after Presley begged him not to file. Jackson learned that Presley had applied for divorce herself the following day. Presley revealed that she and Jackson had been trying to reconcile intermittently for four years after their separation and that she had traveled to different parts of the country in order to be with him in an October 2010 interview with talk show host Oprah Winfrey. Presley was reported to have "felt shattered" following Jackson's death in 2009.

Presley was introduced in 2000 to musician John Oszajca. After seeing Nicolas Cage at a party, she called off the engagement. Presley's third marriage was to Cage. They were married on August 10, 2002. Cage applied for divorce on November 25, 2002, and the divorce was finalized in 2004.

Danny Keough, a bass guitar player in Presley's band in 2005, also served as her musical mentor. Presley regarded him as a close friend and he lived in the guest house on Presley's house. After she and Keough separated, Presley described her friendship with them: "I don't know how we've managed to stay close, but we've managed to stay close." I have pain or betrayal related to others that I know that I will not have anything to do with. However, he and I had a special thing. Unconditional." Presley remarked in a commercial interview in 2003 that she and Keough were planning to remarry: "Danny is my best friend, always has been, and will be." I adore him unconditionally, but we are not together. It isn't like that." After Presley divorced Michael Jackson, Keough and Presley became closer. Thomas Keough's younger brother, Thomas Keough, was a registered attendant of Presley's wedding to Michael Jackson.

Presley married Michael Lockwood, her guitarist, music producer, and director for the fourth time on January 22, 2006. Danny Keough was the best man at the couple's wedding, which was held in Japan. Presley revealed she was pregnant in March 2008, amid rumors about her apparent weight gain. Her husband was a first-time father. Harper Vivienne Ann Lockwood and Finley Aaron Love Lockwood, both younger twin girls, were born on October 7, 2008, at the Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, California. Both twins weighed 5 pounds 2 ounces (2.3 kilograms) and 5 lb 15 ounces (2.7 kilograms), respectively. After ten years of marriage, Presley applied for divorce from Lockwood in 2016. Presley said in February 2017 that her children were taken into care of by her parents, and that she had opposition to Lockwood's request for spousal assistance, claiming that she had discovered hundreds of images and videos of child pornography on his personal computer. In 2021, the divorce was finalized.

Presley and Isaac Hayes, a Memphian and Scientologist, opened the Literacy, Education and Ability Program in October 1997 (LEAP). Applied Scholastics, a Scientologist-led organisation, administers LEAP.

Presley was given the Humanitarian Award by the Church of Scientology-funded World Literacy Crusade on January 5, 2002 for her efforts to assist children across America in learning how to read literature. Presley's award from Isaac Hayes, Chaka Khan, and Yolanda King, Martin Luther King Jr.'s daughter, is regarded as a front group for the Church of Scientology by critics. Presley spoke out against medication use in treating ADHD on September 26 of the same year, saying, "I have spoken to children who have been coerced to take a cocaine-like stimulant to regulate their behaviour"; others have expressed their dissatisfaction with the use of medications in treating ADHD. Children have been pulled from their families' care simply because their parents preferred a drug-free alternative to dealing with educational and behavioral problems. Millions of children's psychotropic drug use must be halted," says the author. These views expressed her convictions as a Scientologist. Presley, a Scientologists group, spoke to the committee as the International Spokesperson for Children's Rights (CCHR), a group run by Scientologists, said that parents should be aware of alternative drugs so they can "make a well-informed decision regarding their children's educational and medical needs."

Presley left the church in 2014, though she had been dissatisfied with Scientology as early as 2008. Priscilla's mother was reportedly expelled from the church immediately after. The representative for Priscilla denied the information right away, saying that she is still a member and is still an active participant.

"Like Marie Presley wanted to be a pop star with a difference on her first two albums; on Storm & Grace, she would rather be an engineer; and if she's still working her musical imperfections out of her system, it's more mature, more mature, and more effective work than one would have expected." Presley, who may or may not have wished to pursue a recording career, is finally developing a sound personality that truly suits her."

"Presley has had the best album of her career in the forthcoming Storm & Grace," Spinner.com reported. It's a moody masterpiece, debating the demons and angels of her life to the tune of country-spiced downbeat pop.

It's a smash hit, but is it WRONG to go and see Michael Jackson the Musical? Read on and decide what you think

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 25, 2024
When I first saw the posters for MJ: the Musical, I marvelled at the producers in daring to bring us a jukebox extravaganza about such a controversial figure. MJ: the Musical opened just before Easter at one of the Delfont Mackintosh theatres, the Prince Edward , and has received a mixture of sceptical and gushing reviews. So it was no surprise when, in my own household of strongly held opinions, a discussion about whether we would go to MJ: the Musical erupted into blazing debate this week. What was surprising was which side of the fault line of controversy the different generations fell.
