Judith Hill Life

Judith Glory Hill, an American singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, California, is an American singer-songwriter.

Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and Josh Groban have all supported vocals.

During his This Is It concert tour in 2009, Hill was selected as Jackson's duet partner for the song "I Just Can't Stop Loving You."

Following Jackson's death in 2009, she, along with the remainder of the This Is It cast members, attended Jackson's memorial service and drew worldwide notice when she sang the lead on the song "Heal the World."

In 20 Feet from Stardom, a documentary film that tells the tale of the backup singers behind some of the "greatest musical legends of the 21st century," Hill's ascension to fame is briefly told.

She is also a featured artist on the film's soundtrack.

For her role in this film, she received the Grammy Award for Best Music Film. In the 2012 Spike Lee film Red Hook Summer, a number of Hill's original ballads, including "Desperation," were included.

Hill became a contestant on the fourth season of The Voice in March 2013.

Her demise on the top 8 show was deemed one of the most shocking of the show.

During Josh Groban's third leg of his All That Echoes World Tour (North America) in Fall 2013, the hill opened for him.

She appeared in two duets with him on "The Prayer" and "Remember When It Rained," the former of which was released as a solo.

In the Fall of 2014, she also traveled with John Legend on the UK leg of his #AllOfMe tour. Back in Time, Judith Hill's WeTransfer account's free download on March 23 and made available until March 25, 2015, with a note from Prince.

Judith Hill Career

Life and career

Michiko Hill (née Yoshimura) is a pianist from Tokyo who performed with Hill's father, Robert Lee "Pee Wee" Hill in a funk band in the 1970s. Judith's mother is Japanese, and her father is African-American. She can speak and sing in both English and Japanese, as well as French and Spanish.

Hill earned a degree in music composition from Biola University and moved to France in 2007 to work with French singer Michel Polnareff. When she returned to the United States, she began a career as a singer-songwriter.

Hill's voice, according to Los Angeles Weekly's Tom Meek, is distinctive, soulful, and has an earthy quality that makes it unique. She shifts from R&B to hip-hop to jazz to gospel in a snap.

Gregg Allman (Molody Blues); Anastacia (Freak of Nature); andrae Crouch (Man on the Rocks); Andray Father (Taylor Hicks); Andraé Crouch (Copout); Andraé Crunk (Low Country Blues); Taylor Hicks (Man on the Rocks); Mike Stewart (Without); Andray Women's); Richard Taylor (Low Country Blues);

She has appeared on music collections including Inspiration: A Tribute to Nat King Cole by George Benson, I'll Take Romance by Steve Tyrell, and That's Life by Landau Eugene Murphy Jr.

In the 2012 Spike Lee film Red Hook Summer, a number of Hill's original ballads, as well as "Desperation" produced by Brian West, were included in the 2012 Spike Lee film Red Hook Summer, which premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. Lee about Hill: "She's a natural performer," Lee said to Rolling Stone: "She's a natural performer." She will sing with the best of them.

Hill has signed a record deal with Sony Music in 2013.

In the CBS show The Beatles: A Night That Changed America, Hill appeared as a back-up singer on February 9, 2014.

Hill appeared on Gerard Way's original song "Here Comes the End" on display in the Umbrella Academy's second season on July 8, 2020.

Hill was selected as Michael Jackson's duet partner for the This Is It concerts in 2009; she toured for months with Jackson until his death on June 25, 2009.

The concerts were postponed due to Michael Jackson's death. Hill and the rest of the This Is It cast members attended Jackson's memorial service at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles on July 7, 2009. She drew worldwide notice when she sang lead on the album "Heal the World," which was one of the climactic moments of the service.

In the to-be This Is It concert, Hill also paid tribute to Jackson, "I Will Always Be Missing You." It was offered as a free download from her website beginning late 2009 and was released on iTunes on January 26, 2010 (the same day as the This Is It DVD release) — with all proceeds going to Childhelp USA.

Hill auditioned for The Voice's fourth season. All four judges, Adam Levine, Shakira, Usher, and Blake Shelton sang "What a Girl Wants" by Christina Aguilera in the first episode of the season broadcast on March 25, 2013. She selected Team Adam after a difficult decision. "She's going to be a Grammy Award-winning actress, and she's on my team," Levine said.

Hill faced Karina Iglesias in the battle rounds, performing "It's Man's Man's World" alongside Amanda Brown and Trevin Hunte's "Vision of Love" and also Jesse Campbell and Anthony Evan's "If I Ain't Got You" was one of the best fights in Voice history. Levine opted to move on from his team, thus the Knockout Rounds were scheduled. Hill was paired against Orlando Dixon in the Knockout Rounds and triumphed. She has therefore reached the top 16 of the live shows. She had been considered a front-runner in the tournament, but she was disqualified on May 28, 2013. Sarah Simmons and her colleague Sarah Simmons' exits at the Top 8 show was one of the season's most shocking. "It's a sad loss for the show," Judith had the kind of vocal chops and stage presence that should definitely be rewarded by such a competition," said Said Katy Kroll of Rolling Stone.

Performances on The Voice:

In the documentary film 20 Feet from Stardom, which premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and opened in American theaters on June 14, 2013, Hill and several backup singers are included. Hill received the award for Outstanding Original Song for "Desperation," the film received in the 2014 Academy & Critics Choice Award for documentary film, and it was nominated for the Outstanding Original Song award for the film. The Best Music Film award was also given to the featured artists and the production crew in 2015.

Hill performs backing vocals on three of Josh Groban's songs for the album All That Echoes, and he appeared as the opening act on his third leg of his All That Echoes World Tour (North America) in Fall 2013. In his set for "The Prayer" and "Remember When It Rained," the former of which was released as a single. In Groban's official video for his song "Brave," she appears.

In the autumn of 2014, Judith Hill opened John Legend's #AllOfMe Tour in the United Kingdom.

Judith Hill is the featured vocalist on her album "Party Rockers," which appears on Gordon Goodwin's "Life in the Bubble." The album was nominated for the 2015 Grammy Award for Best Arrangement, Instrumental, and Vocals.

Prince William welcomed representatives from many Minnesota media outlets to view Hill's debut album at Paisley Park on March 22, 2015. Back in Time, which Hill's two or three weeks as producer, featured six picks from the Prince's house. "It's the fastest album I've ever made," he said. Prince surprisingly did not discover Hill on The Voice or in Michael Jackson's film This Is It, where she appeared as a backup singer in rehearsal for his forthcoming tour. When he saw a video clip of her being interviewed on a Revolt TV show, he knew she was interested in working with Prince George, she said she'd like to work with him.
