JC Chasez Career

Career

Chasez was shy as a youth but was extremely musical. After a friend begged him $20 to enter a talent competition, he discovered he loved performing, and later won a national dance competition at age 13. In 1989, his mother heard auditions for Disney's The Mickey Mouse Club, which were published in The Washington Post, and encouraged Chasez to try out. Chasez appeared in the fourth season as another cast member named Josh, and he went by his initials. He appeared on the show from 1994 to 1995, during which he befriended future bandmate Justin Timberlake and appeared with Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Tony Lucca, Keri Russell, and Ryan Gosling.

Chasez and Justin Timberlake, the two lead singers of what would be the boy band NSYNC, were Chasez and Justin Timberlake. Chris Kirkpatrick's company was established in 1995 and began recording and performing in Europe the following year. The band's debut album, *NSYNC, which has sold 11 million copies, in the United States, earning them a following. After the band suffered with manager Lou Pearlman, they signed with Jive Records. They launched their second studio album No Strings Attached in 2000, which became the country's fastest-selling record, despite selling 2.4 million copies in the first week. Adele's third album 25 was a hit on the single-week chart until 2015. "Bye Bye," "This I Promise You," and the No Strings Attached album were among the No Strings Attached singles. "It's Gonna Be Me" says one of the 1st hits. Celebrity, the band's third studio album, was released in 2001, and it sold 1.8 million copies in the first week.

Following their 2002 visit to the Celebrity Tour, the NSYNC went on hiatus, and although never officially disbanded, members have confirmed that no plans to reform or record new music have been forthcoming. Timberlake received the Video Vanguard Award for the first time in a row at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, and the group also appeared at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards for the first time. As part of the headlining set at Coachella, Chasez and his bandmates Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick appeared with Ariana Grande in April 2019.

Chasez appeared on the remix and album versions of the 1999 single "Bring It All to Me" by the girl group Blaque, although his vocals were credited to NSYNC as a whole. Chasez spent time with his band and others, including Wild Orchid.

Chasez continued to work as an author and producer during NSYNC's absence. Chasez was hired by producer Dallas Austin to record the song "Blown' Me Up (With Her Love)" for the Drumline album, which was later released as a single. Chasez then began working on a solo album with Jive Records, with tracks written and produced by Austin, Basement Jaxx, Robb Boldt, Riprock 'n' Alex G, as well as Chasez. Schizophrenic's debut album Schizophrenic was released in February 2004, despite many delays. After Chasez was abruptly dropped from playing at halftime at the 2004 Pro Bowl, he influenced the album's promotion. Chasez agreed to change his appearance after the NFL was dissatisfied with the lyrics of his single "Some Girls (Dance with Women)" which expressed too much sexuality, but the promoters eventually refused to change Chasez's appearance with Hawaiian hula dancers, but the organizers had to do so.

Chasez performed vocals on the Basement Jaxx album "Plug It In," which debuted at number one in the UK Dance Charts. Chasez began work on his second album, The Story of Kate, after Schizophrenic's debut. Chasez' former NSYNC bandmate Timberlake, Timbaland, Dallas Austin, Jimmy Harry, and Emanuel Kiriakou were among the album's highlights. "I think (JC) had the best voice out of any of us," Timberlake, who performed a few songs on the album, said. "In my opinion, (JC) had the best voice out of any of us..." "You will see, he was the one that could out-sing all of us." And since I've been around since I was twelve, it's been fun to sit behind the board and push him."

Although it was originally planned for publication in 2006, The Story of Kate was postponed until the following year. "Until Yesterday" and "You Ruined Me" were two of the two lead singles, and "Until Yesterday" and "You Ruined Me" were released online. During guests spots on TV, Chasez performed material from the new album, including Ghost Whisperer, Las Vegas, and Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlish. Chasez and Jive parted ways in September 2007, shortly after the album's release was postponed.

Chasez continues to perform as a writer and producer, with songs written for David Archuleta, Matthew Morrison, and Backstreet Boys. He has written for Taemin, Liz, and NU'EST. On MTV, he became a judge on Randy Jackson's America's Best Dance Crew, spending on the panel for the first seven seasons of the show's original run in 2008.

"IF U C Kate," written by Dallas Austin, Taio Cruz, Alan Nglish, and Chasez was included on McFly's album, Above the Noise in November 2010. Chasez wrote and performed two songs on AJ McLean's debut album Have It All, which was released in the United States in February 2011. Chasez and producer Jimmy Harry held auditions for an all-girl group that was formed in November the same year under the name Girl Radical.

Chasez was chosen to attend Andrew Lloyd Webber's rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar as Pontius Pilate in 2014. Other cast members included Ben Forster and several well-known artists, including Incubus' Brandon Boyd, Destiny's Child's Michelle Williams, and Public Image Ltd's John Lydon. The entire North American tour was postponed on May 30, 2014, with poor projected ticket sales cited as the reason.

Chasez appeared on a recent edition of "My Girl" with Smokey Robinson on the album Smokey & Friends, along with Miguel and Aloe Blacc. Chasez appeared on the title track of the Blues Traveler album Blow Up the Moon and in the song's accompanying music video in 2015. Chasez appeared in the film Opening Night, in which he played a dramatized version of himself in 2016.
