Jazmine Marie Sullivan (born April 9, 1987) is an American singer-songwriter from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Her debut album, Fearless, was released in 2008 to commercial and critical success.

It is certified gold in the US.

Life and career

Don and Pam Sullivan, Jazmine Sullivan's parents, are the two children. Her mother is a former Philadelphia International Records backup artist. When she was five years old, her father obtained a job as a curator for the city's Historic Strawberry Mansion in the Strawberry Mansion district, and her family and her family moved into the historic landmark.

Sullivan, a 2005 graduate of the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts, where she was a vocal music major. Sullivan began singing as a contralto in the children's choir and later in the adult choir. Initially, Sullivan's exposure to secular music was limited.

Sullivan signed to Jive Records at the age of fifteen. She released an album that was never released and was eventually dropped from the brand. Sullivan appeared on Jadakiss' album "Smoking Gun" on his third studio album, The Last Kiss. The song's music video premiered on August 30, 2010. In 2011, the artist will be nominated for the Best Female R&B Vocal Performance award. Sullivan said in a billboard interview, she described her return as inevitable, saying she "can't escape [her] calling." During her hiatus, she based her song Reality Show on watching reality television shows, which inspired the namesake. Key Wane and Salaam Remi's collection features 14 songs on the album, as well as a few others. On May 12, 2014, Meek Mill, an American rapper, was featured in "Dumb," the lead single.
