Hwang Chan-sung Life

Hwang Chan-sung (born February 11, 1990), also known mononymously as Chansung, is a South Korean singer, composer, rapper, and actor.

He is a member of the Korean boy band 2 p.m.

Chansung made his debut as an actor in Unstoppable High Kick's 2006 comedy film Unstoppable High Kick, and since then has appeared in Kaito Royale (2011) and seventh Grade Civil Servant (2013).

Early life

He was born in Seoul, South Korea, where he now lives. He attended Korean Arts High School and completed an undergraduate degree at Howon University (Gunsan, South Korea), with his bandmates Junho and Wooyoung. In addition, Junho is currently attending a master's degree of cinematography at Sejong University.

Personal life

Hwang speaks fluent Korean, intermediate Japanese, and basic English. He is also a trained martial artist, and he has performed in Taekwondo and Kumdo. He earned his third degree black belt in Taekwondo, according to We Neighborhood Arts and Physical Education. JYP Entertainment revealed on Twitter on June 1, 2012 that Hwang and his weight trainer, Hwang Mo., would open a fitness center. The fitness center is located in Nonhyun-dong (), Seoul.

On June 11, 2019, Hwang joined the Army for his compulsory military service, but was discharged on January 5, 2021.

On December 15, 2021, it was revealed that Hwang's fiancée is pregnant and that they will be married early next year. On July 26, 2022, the couple's first child, a daughter, was born.

Hwang appeared in MBC's 2006 comedy sitcom Unstoppable High Kick and then in KBS2's 2008 teen drama Jungle Fish. The drama received a variety of accolades, including the Peabody Award. He auditioned for, and was selected, one of the dozen finalists (including his future bandmates Lee Junho and Taecyeon) to compete in "Superstar Survival" during this time, as well as his future bandmates Lee Junho and Taecyeon).

He took part in Mnet's Hot Blood Men in 2008, which culminated in the hard training of 13 trainees in order to become a member of the boy band One Day. Two boy bands emerged between 2AM and 2 p.m. on One Day, of which the latter one, Hwang, became a member of. Two months after Hot Blood premiered on television, 2PM launched their first single "10 Points out of ten Points") from their first EP Hottest Time of the Day, but they didn't debut with their second EP 2:00 PM Time For Change, which boosted their popularity in the Korean music market. The company has released six studio albums in Korea and four studio albums in Japan as of 2017.

In 2011, Hwang made a cameo appearance in Dream High as Oh-sun's imaginary boy (episode 12) and Japanese drama Kait Royale as Jack s uncle (episode 12).

Hwang appeared in a spy romance film called Gong Do-ha on January 23, 2013. In Your Noir, the same year, Hwang assumes the role of a young gangster named Hyeong-ju.
