Christina Nicola "Chrissy" Costanza (born August 23, 1995) is an American singer, songwriter, and singer.

Against The Current, she is best known as the lead vocalist and primary songwriter of the rock band.

She is also a YouTube celebrity.

Over 800,000 followers are currently on her self-titled YouTube channel, where she posts vlogs and beauty tutorials.

Early life

Costanza was born in New Jersey on August 23, 1995, into an Italian American family. Michael is her younger brother. It was one of her aspirations to be a singer as a child. Dan Gow and Will Ferri, the current band members, were introduced by a mutual friend.

She attended Immaculate Heart Academy in Washington Township, Bergen County, New Jersey.

She attended Fordham University between 2013 and 2014.

Personal life

Costanza was in a 2015 friendship with Cameron Hurley of We Are the In Crowd. They broke up in 2019, which partially inspired the song "That won't save us."

She began dating Tucker Roberts, founder of Spectacor Gaming, and son of Comcast CEO Brian L. Roberts in February 2021. In September 2021, Costanza announced their engagement. They now live in Los Angeles.

Career

Will Ferri and Dan Gow were introduced by a mutual friend in 2011 and they formed their band. Against The Current began writing original songs, but most of the lyrics were written by Costanza. They also began to post covers of famous songs on YouTube. In 2012, Against The Current dropped their first single "Thinking." Meanwhile, Costanza created a self-titled YouTube channel and started posting beauty videos. Against the Current was on tour with Alex Goot in the summer of 2013.

Infinity, Against the Current, was their first EP, released in 2014. Costanza appeared on Access Hollywood on June 6, 2013. Gravity, Against The Current's second EP, was released in February 2015. Against The Current had signed a record deal with Fueled by Ramen at the end of April 2015. They began their first world tour, the "Gravity World Tour," at the end of August. On May 20, 2016, Against the Current released their debut album In Our Bones. Costanza performed live with Alex Goot on his tour in May, the first album they had on sale. Against the Current was invited to perform a last-minute set at the Download Festival while in the United Kingdom. The band are "writing their future," according to Kerrang!, a UK-based magazine dedicated to rock music, and Costanza is "Their Fearless Frontwoman." Rock Sound announced that Costanza would have her own column in their monthly newsletter to discuss Against The Current's debut album, writing her own lyrics for the band, performing, and giving tips to aspiring bands how to be successful.

For the 2017 League of Legends World Championship tie-in, Against the Current performed the song "Legends Never Die" for the video game League of Legends. Past Lives, Against the Current, the group's second studio album, was released in 2018. Against The Currents is back to Reading and Leeds Festival in August after the band made their first appearances at Lollapalooza 2019 and Pentaport Rock Festival. Costanza appeared on "Phoenix" for the 2019 League of Legends World Championship, collaborated with Cailin Russo, who then appeared at the finals in Paris, France, and then again on New Year's Eve in Beijing, China. In the anime film My Hero Academia, Costanza performed "Each Goal" and "Hero too" as the main character.

Costanza was the host of the show Guest House on Facebook from July 2020 to May 2021. Chrissy and the winners of the 2019 League of Legends World Championships FunPlus Phoenix teamed up with "Phoenix" as their 2021 anthem (this song being different from the 2019 version of the Legends World Championships with the same name).

Against the Current's Winter 2022, the two teams collaborated on "Wildfire" by Against the Current for a song called "Wildfire," a member of the League of Legends European Championship's 2022 Spring Season, which is part of a promotion for the 2022 Spring Season of its said League of Legends regional league run.
