In 2014, Pratt debuted in two critically and commercially hit films, Warner Animation Group's The Lego Movie as Emmet Brickowski and Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy as Star-Lord.

He appeared in Jurassic World, the fourth installment of the Jurassic Park franchise, and later Avengers: Endgame; he reprised his role in the sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in 2018.

In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol., he reprised his role as a Star-Lord in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019), a role that he will reprise in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3.

He is supposed to be in a lead role in the military sci-fi war film The Tomorrow War, in which he is making his debut as a film director.

Early life

Christopher Michael Pratt was born in Virginia, Minnesota, on June 21, 1979. His mother worked at a Safeway supermarket, and his father worked in mining and later on renovations. Pratt's father died of multiple sclerosis in 2014 and his son died in 2014. His mother is of Norwegian descent. The family moved to Lake Stevens, Washington, when Pratt was seven years old. In a high school state wrestling tournament, Pratt came in fifth place. He was also a shot putter for his high school's track team. When his wrestling coach asked him what he wanted to do with his life, he said, "I don't know, but I do know I'll be famous and I'll make a shit ton of money." I had no idea how. "I had nothing proactive." In 1997, he graduated from Lake Stevens High School.

Pratt dropped out of community college halfway through the first semester and ended up homeless in Maui, Hawaii, sleeping in a van and a tent on the beach. "It's a great place to be homeless," He told The Independent, "it's a pretty awesome place to be homeless." We just drank and smoked weed and barely survived for a few hours, but not enough to cover gas, food, and fishing supplies.' He recalled listening to the Dr. Dre album every day, to the point where he knew every lyric; years later, he rapped Eminem's verses from the song "Forgot About Dre" extemporaneously during an interview. He worked with the Christian missionary group Jews for Jesus during his time in Maui.

Personal life

Pratt met actress Anna Faris, who played his love interest in the film in 2007. They were engaged in late 2008 and married in Bali, Indonesia, on July 9, 2009, eloping on a whim after a friend's wedding. They lived in Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills neighborhood. Their son was born in 2012, nine weeks early and weighing only 3 pounds 12 ounces (1.7 kg). After both he and his wife "prayed a lot" after being initially worried about the baby's prognosis, Pratt said that the birth of his premature son "actually defined" his faith in God. The couple split in 2017 and announced their divorce the following year.

In June 2018, Pratt began a friendship with author Katherine Schwarzenegger. Pratt and Schwarzenegger were engaged on January 13, 2019. They were married in Montecito, California, on June 8, 2019. In 2020, their first child was born. He became a Kennedy cousin through his marriage to Schwarzenegger. Their second daughter was born in May 2022.

Pratt was raised Lutheran and later worked for Jews for Jesus, eventually becoming a non-denominational Christian. Pratt is reported to attend the Zoe Church in Los Angeles, which is connected to the Hillsong Church, and has been branded anti-LGBT by some. "It has recently been suggested that I be a member of a church that "hates a particular group of people," he said, and is 'adamantly anti-LGBTQ." Nothing could be further from the truth. "I go to a church that welcomes absolutely everybody." Pratt never became a member of his church, according to Brian Houston of Hillsong. Both Guardians of Galaxy Director James Gunn defended Pratt, saying he "knows] the church he currently attends" and chastised those wanting to see him recast as Star-Lord." "Maybe it was hubris," Pratt said in a 2022 Men's Health interview, implying that it was hubris." I'm not sure I touched anyone in order for me to stand on stage and say the things that I said. For a long time, religion has been oppressive as fuck... When I'm not a religious person, I wasn't aware that I would sort of become the face of religion." He praised God and yet was not a member of Hillsong, but said he did not want to announce them at the time because not to "throw a church under the bus."

Pratt has stated that he does not feel represented by either political party or national party, and he has expressed a desire to find common ground. He has contributed over $1,000 to Barack Obama's 2012 campaign.

Chris Pratt Career

Career

When Pratt was 19 years old, he waited tables at Bubba Gump Company restaurant in Maui, when actress and director Rae Dawn Chong discovered him. In her debut as a director, she portrayed him in the short horror film Cursed Part 3, which was shot in Los Angeles. On the television show Everwood, Pratt's first regular television appearance was as Harold Brighton "Bright" Abbott. Since Everwood's demise, he joined The O.C. cast. Winchester "Ché" Cook, a female activist, is back for his fourth season. He was also starring in the 2008 adventure film Wanted, in which James McAvoy attacks him with a keyboard.

Pratt debuted Andy Dwyer on the NBC comedy series Parks and Recreation in 2009. Producers loved Pratt so much that they asked him to become a series regular, even though he was supposed to be a temporary character. It was his breakthrough role in this regard.

In the 2011 film Moneyball, Pratt portrayed Oakland Athletics first baseman/catcher Scott Hatteberg. He was initially told that he was too fat to play Hatteberg because he had gained 40 pounds (18 kg), which Pratt attributed to his then-girlfriend, actress Anna Faris' cooking. He worked out every day to see if the role was cast, losing a total of 30 pounds (14 kg). He felt he had lost enough and sent a snapshot of himself to the casting director, who was able to capture the role. Pratt was portrayed as young and somewhat immature characters before the game of Moneyball was announced. He starred in Moneyball as a father and dejected baseball player who once feared his time was over and had to learn a new defensive position.

In the film Zero Dark Thirty (2012), he regained the weight he had lost in order to appear in the film ten years (2011) but then dropped it again to portray a Navy SEAL. In Spike Jonze's sci-fi romance Her in December 2013, he co-worker Joaquin Phoenix.

Although Pratt had been known for supporting characters and was best known for his portly person on Parks and Recreation, 2014 was a turning point in his career: Emmet Brickowski in The Lego Movie, which grossed $469.1 million; and Peter Quill / Star-Lord in Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy, which grossed $773.3 million. Pratt had initially dismissed Peter Quill's role as "want another Captain Kirk or Avatar moment" after humbling auditions for both. Sarah Finn, the film's casting director, suggested Pratt to director James Gunn, who had trouble casting him and dismissed the possibility. Despite all this, Finn arranged a meeting between the two people, at which point Gunn was convinced that Pratt was the right one for the job. Despite lifting weight for the comedy film Delivery Man, Pratt also won over Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. Pratt had a multi-film contract with Marvel, and the role was part of a multi-film contract. "Pratt, the leader of the pack of misfits, is so full of good will that he buoys the film and its mandatory whizbang special effects," Bruce Diones of The New Yorker said.

Pratt, a lifelong fan of Jurassic Park (1993) who has referred to the film as "my Star Wars," was replaced by Josh Brolin as the lead in Jurassic World (2015). Owen Grady, a Velociraptors trainer, is a fan of Owen Grady. For a global total of $1.670 billion, Jurassic World earned $652.3 million in North America and $1.018 billion abroad. Pratt's performance was lauded, with Rolling Stone's Peter Travers naming him "ace[d] it as an action hero and invests his sexual banter with a comedic twist. He reprised his role in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which was released on June 22, 2018. Despite being a commercial hit, the sequel received mixed feedback, with CNN's Brian Lowry critiquing it for "largely neutralizing [...] Pratt's charm and comedic skills."

Josh Faraday, a gambler, appeared in The Magnificent Seven, a remake of the 1960 Western in which he appeared alongside Denzel Washington, in which he appeared alongside Denzel Washington. On September 23, 2016, the film was released. Passengers, a science fiction film starring Jennifer Lawrence, was Pratt's second appearance in 2016. "A mechanic who can no longer appreciate a man who works with his hands," Pratt played Jim Preston, "a mechanic" who needs to get off an Earth that no longer seems to care about.

In the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. Peter Quill / Star-Lord, Pratt reprised his role as Peter Quill / Star-Lord. In May 2017, the first two versions, which were first published in May 2017, were released. Quill's and his team's hunt for his father are the subject of the film.
