Early life
Benjamin Quiambao Sapida was born in Guam on March 31, 1987. Alves is the nephew of Filipino actor Piolo Pascual.
Alves left the Philippines in 2006 to pursue a modeling career. Vince Saldaa joined showbusiness in 2008 and competed in ABS-CBN's reality model-search competition Close-Up to Fame, where he eventually became a finalist. He then joined VIVA and received his first acting role in QTV's teen drama Posh in 2007. He appeared in other Viva Films films, such as Ang Cute ng Ina Mo and Apat Dapat, Dapat Apat, in the same year. On GMA Network, he appeared in soap operas Dalawang Tisoy, Ysabella, ABS-CBN, and Impostora. Alves has also appeared in numerous television commercials and magazines, in addition to his work on television series and films. He was supposed to be one of the cast of GMA Network's L.U.V. Pow but was later suspended after the cast revival. In 2009, Alves left show business to continue his studies.
